Jesus: Your Saviour or Your Religion?

Sunday, March 11, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert How, in your relationship with the Lord, did you prepare yourself for the church services this Sunday morning? Did you religiously go to church or did your prepare your heart, mind, and soul for God's Word? 2 Corinthians 11:1-34 See 1 Corinthians 1:1-2... Paul was writing to the believers... those who are sanctified. The foundation of the Corinthians problems was that they were following men instead of God and causing divisions among themselves. 1 Corinthians 11 gives many physical examples that have spiritual meanings. In all their religious activity they didn't know that they were missing the spirit of God. The Word of God is the bread and blood of Christ Taking part in the spiritual eating of the bread and blood (God's word) of Christ will not save you and make you right before God, you must be in continual repentance. Taking part in communion services every month at church isn't sufficient to make you...

To Know God: Examine Yourself

Sunday, February 26, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Luke 11:11-13  -  If a son were to ask his father for anything, he would give it. Do we think that our Heavenly Father will not do the same for us? Are you willing to ask the Father or are you just expecting to have get it of your own strength? John 15:16  -  Just because you ask in the Father's name doesn't mean He'll give you whatever you want. You must have a relationship with God and ask according to His will. See Jesus' prayer in Luke 22:39-46 Romans 12:1-3  -  We are to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. We shouldn't think higher of ourselves but rather renew our minds. When we lean on our own understanding we are thinking higher of ourselves then we ought. 2 Corinthians 13:5  -  We need to examine ourselves (not others) to see if we're in the faith (not good works). In our relationship with God, do we constantly think of the Lord? Luke 17:3-4  ...

MY DEAR G.,—I was glad indeed to see, by the line you sent me, that though your mind is dark and troubled, you have not gone back to the world. Ah, it is a false, deceiving world! It smiles only to betray. Fain would I lead you to taste the peace that passeth understanding, and that it is only to be found in Jesus. You are quite wrong in thinking that I do not understand your misery. I know it well. It is true Jesus does give me peace. He washes me from all sin in his own blood. I often feel Him standing by my side and looking down upon me, saying, “Thou are mine.” Yet still I have known more misery than you. I have sinned more deeply than you. I have sinned against more light and more love, and yet I have found mercy; why may not you? Remember what James Covey said: “Tell   poor sa...
