Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus: Trust & Obey

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus This Week: Trust & Obey Sunday, November 25, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Romans 1 - All people are wretched and sinful. Romans 2 - The law doesn't redeem the guilty. Romans 3 - All have sinned and fallen short. Romans 4 The Jews proclaim Abraham to be the "Father of our Faith" but they don't understand what that faith is. It doesn't matter what the majority says or what religious leaders think. It's "what saith the scriptures?" Works are worthless. Trusting in the work that God does and the justification of the ungodly makes a person's faith to be counted as righteousness. Abraham was counted righteous before he was circumcised. it wasn't the works that made him righteous, it was his faith in God's forgiveness and grace that redeemed him. Abraham is not the "father of the Jews" through the works of circumcision, but the father of all who put thei...

Obedience

Sunday, September 25, 2011  Led by Eric Gintert Romans 5:17  -  Sin came into the world by one man's disobedience (Adam) but many are made righteous by one man's obedience (Jesus) See 1 Corinthians 15:45-46 See Proverbs 22:6... a child doesn't have to be taught how to be disobedient, he must be taught how to be obedient Philippians 2:5-8  -  This is the very thing that got Jesus in trouble with the world. (See John 1:46) Jesus never sought recognition, in fact, He told people not to say anything about miracles He had done for them. (See Mark 5:38-43) Jesus took the form of a servant and humbled Himself and became obedient unto death. (Matthew 26:39) Jesus came to do the will of His Father in Heaven. Hebrews 5:5-9  -  Christ glorified not Himself; He did not come for a title... High Priest, Pastor, Youth Director, etc. John 14:23  -  To keep means to stay, guard, ...

Trust and Obey

Sunday, April 3, 2011 Led by Dennis Jeffries Don't let your age, your past sins, or your appearance keep you from trusting and obeying what God asks you to do. Exodus 3:1-2  -  When you hear Jesus speaking to you in your heart, trust that is is him who is speaking to you and then obey without saying "Why Me?", Moses still did the Lord's will even though he didn't feel worthy. 1 Samuel 16:1,7,10-12  -  don't look at your age or outward appearance; God looks at the heart and willing mind Acts 9:1-18  -  no matter what sin you've committed in the past, God will still use you if you are willing; Paul began to trust that Jesus was speaking to him  and then he had to obey the voice of the Lord. Ananias made excuses for why he couldn't go to Paul... again, don't ask God "Why?" Isaiah 6:8  -  our answer to God's voice should be "Here am I, send me." Prayer Requests Josh Wiggins  -  head cold Aaron Coleman  -  w...
