"A Better Way to Pray"

Sunday, February 17, 2013 Click HERE to view all video's by Andrew Wommack called "A Better Way to Pray". Prayer is fellowship with God... a personal relationship . Today, our relationship with God mostly consists of asking Him to take care of all our troubles. Adam and Eve has a relationship with God before they had any troubles. This is how our relationship with God should be. A lot of people use prayer as a way to get something out of God instead of using it as a means to commune with God. Revelation 4:8-11 An example of a constant attitude of praise and worship. All things were created for God's pleasure... we were created to have a relationship with Him. One thing that has been ordained by God since before sin or troubles is marriage. 1 John 4:18 When we have a relationship with God in prayer, we have no fear because our love for God is so great! God is always present with us, but we are not always present with Him. I...

Don't Lose Heart for Jesus!

Sunday, December 9, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Are We Crying DAY & NIGHT? Luke 18:1-8 Are we crying day and night unto Him? We may say a traditional prayer before meals and before bed time, but do we continually cry unto Him with our heart? "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again..." Proverbs 24:16 The just man gets back up because He wants Jesus... he's continually seeking Him. He has heart! "Get-it-Quick" Jesus Gospel Today we have a "get-it-quick", "drive-thru" Jesus gospel going on in our church buildings. Have you ever heard this from an evangelist? "Would you like to come down and be saved? It will only take 5 minutes of your time. " Who (or What) is Your God? Want to know who your God is? Who (or what) do you think about and dream about the most? Money? Business? Church? Family? Friends? Television? God? That's is your God... what ever most fills your...

Prayer, Faith, and Forgivness

Sunday, March 4, 2012 Led by Joel Fields Mark 11:13-26 vs. 13-14   -  Jesus was looking for fruit on the fig tree but all He found was fig leaves. The season was not yet come. Hosea 14:8  -  Our fruit is found only in the Father... we can only bear fruit because of Him and for His glory. John 15:8  -  The sign of a true disciple is one who bears much fruit. Herein is the Father glorified. When Adam and Eve sinned, they covered themselves in fig leaves... God didn't find any righteous fruit in them. We all go through seasons of drought and God has to bring the refreshing rain so that we will produce fruit again.   vs. 15-19 - Jesus cast out the men who had made His Father's house a den of thieves and perverted the temple of God.   When Jesus came to this temple all He saw was fig leaves... there was no fruit there so He cast them out... they were useless to Him. Everything on the outside looked good and holy, but inwardly t...

Pray for our Leaders

Sunday, January 29, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert The most important thing we can do this election year is not to vote, but to pray. Acts 1:1 - 2:47 As our leader, Jesus always did what He said He was going to do... He was a doer and not a hearer only (James 1:22) Even the Apostles were concerned about if Jesus was going to restore the kingdom back to Israel... they were only looking at the physical kingdom and not the spiritual kingdom. Jesus didn't come to obtain political power, but to advance God's kingdom. Jesus came to reign in our hearts... He is our spiritual King. Herod wanted to kill Jesus (and killed many babies in the attempt) because the political rulers thought He came to take their position... they were thinking carnally and not spiritually. "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peac...

Psalms 106:15

Sunday, October 30, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert " And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul." Psalm 106:15 We must be careful what we ask for!  God gave the children of Israel a king as they requested but sent leanness to their souls... their king didn't honor God, but disobeyed Him. (1 Samuel 15) God allowed Lot to have his desires of Sodom and Gomorrah, but it did not end well in that city... He sent leanness to Lot's soul. (2 Peter 2:7-8) The Prodigal Son was given all that he asked for but he had leanness in his soul. (Luke 15:11-32) The religious people chose Barabbas (a murder) over Jesus and leanness was sent to their souls. Even Pilates wife was vexed by the unjust treatment of Jesus. (Matthew 27:11-23) What will it gain us if we get the whole world but lose our soul or get leanness to our soul. (Matthew 16:26) What is the purpose or goal of our prayers? -  Is it to attain something physical? (car, house, job, care...

Daniel Prayed

Sunday, August 21, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Daniel 1:1-21  -  Where was Daniel's family? He never mentions having a father, mother, brothers or sisters. Perhaps they were killed when they were captured by the Babylonians? Right after Daniel was captured he wanted to serve God and not man and therefore God made his enemies to be at peace with him (Proverbs 16:7). God blessed Daniel and his friends because they wanted to serve God more than men. Daniel 2:16-23, 27-28  -  Daniel was an intercessor for those who the king wanted to kill. Daniel went to the other godly men to receive counsel and prayer. They had a prayer night seeking God's wisdom. Just as the king thought he could get understanding from the magicians, astrologers, and sorcerers, we think we can go to intellectual people for instruction and wisdom but only God can give true wisdom. Daniel 6:10-11  -  Daniel continued praying to God when the decree was written that men should only pray to the...

Examples of Prayer from Those of Old

Sunday, August 7, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert We can learn a lot about prayer by reading what God's servants of old have prayed. "To pray is the greatest thing we can do: and to do it well there must be calmness, time, and deliberation; otherwise it is degraded into the littlest and meanest of things. True praying has the largest results for good; and poor praying, the least. We cannot do too much of real praying; we cannot do too little of the sham. We must learn anew the worth of prayer, enter anew the school of prayer. There is nothing which it takes more time to learn. And if we would learn the wondrous art, we must not give a fragment here and there -- "A little talk with Jesus," as the tiny saintlets sing -- but we must demand and hold with iron grasp the best hours of the day for God and prayer, or there will be no praying worth the name. This, however, is not a day of prayer. Few men there are who pray. Prayer is defamed by preacher and priest. In these days o...

"My House Shall Be Called A House of Prayer"

Sunday, July 31, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert "My House Shall be Called a House of Prayer" Click Here to watch videos that go with our topic of prayer. We pray it helps bring more understanding of the scriptures to you. Matthew 21:12-17 (see also Mark 11:15-17 & Luke 19:45-46)  -  God's house is His house of prayer and Jesus was angry when he saw his Father's house being defiled . Our bodies are the temple (see 1 Corinthians 6:19). Don't come to the Lord in prayer for your own gain and glory; Go to God for His gain and glory. We need to keep out temples (bodies) pure in prayer. Jeremiah 7:1-16  -  defiling the house of God 2 Chronicles 7:12-14  -  If God's people will humble themselves and pray, God will forgive them their sins and heal them. Children's Lesson: "The Brass Serpent on the Pole" Read Numbers 21:8 Questions to Answer: 1.   Why were the Israelites marching in the wilderness? 2.   What did God do because the people grumble...

A Lesson on Prayer

Sunday, July 24, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert What is prayer? Who's prayers will God hear? How are you supposed to pray? In this lesson we searched the scriptures to answer these questions.  Prayer is seeking God.   1 Peter 3:12  -  God hears the prayers of the righteous (not the self-righteous but those who have God's righteousness in them). The world and it's righteousness stinks! The world has enmity with God... see James 4:4. God doesn't want the sacrifices (prayers) of lambs and bullocks anymore. Jesus is that final sacrifice for all of us... See Hebrews 9:11-14. God wants the sacrifices of a broken and contrite heart in prayer... See Psalm 51:16-17. Proverbs 15:29  -  The Lord hears the prayer of the righteous, but He is far from the wicked. You need to get right with God before you come to Him in prayer. Luke 11:1-13 (Also read Matthew 6:5-15)  -  One of Jesus' disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, There was something desirable in ho...

The Counsel of God

Sunday, March 13, 2011 Led by Dennis Jeffries Are you receiving the counsel of the world or the counsel of God in your life?  Proverbs 15:22  -  plans are disappointed when there is no counsel *** Note: "counsel" means intimate consultation (i.e. with God in prayer) and "purposes" means plans *** Proverbs 20:18  -  every plan is established by some kind of counsel (whether of the world or of God); make war with Satan when you receive good counsel Deuteronomy 32:28-29  -  the United States is void of the counsel of God and we need to consider our later end *** See Matthew 6:24 *** Psalm 1:1  -  you are blessed if you don't seek counsel from the ungodly Psalm 33:11  -  God's counsel stands forever  *** He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. See Hebrews 13:8 *** Isaiah 46:9-11  -  God's counsel shall last; you can't stop what God has planned Psalm 55:14  -  we took sweet counsel (fellowship) t...

Showing God Thanks

Sunday, November 28, 2010 Led by Dennis Jeffries Colossians 3:15-17  -  don't let other things (hatred, anger, envy, greed, fear of man's opinion, etc.) rule in your heart *** Read Job 2:9-10 and Job 1:20-22 *** *** What do you do to show God thanks? *** Psalm 100:4-5  -  Q: Why should we thank the Lord? A: Because He is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations 1 Timothy 1:12-13  -  Paul didn't choose the ministry but God chose him, enabled him, and had mercy on him *** Using scripture, what did Paul do that showed he was thankful to God? *** 2 Corinthians 3:5-6  -  emphasis on the fact that God enabled Paul for the ministry, he didn't do it himself because we are not sufficient of ourselves *** See 1 Corinthians 15:10 and Philippians 2:13 *** 1 Thessalonians 5:18-19  -  the will of God is that we would give thanks for everything and if you don't do this, you are quenching the Spirit *** How can y...

Being in Remembrance & Awaking Out of Sleep

Sunday, November 21, 2010 Led by Eric Gintert Remembering the Land that the Lord has Brought You out of: Psalm 90:12  -  As evidenced by the prayer requests (below) many people have cancers and illnesses where the doctors predict death. Therefore we need to ask the Lord to teach us to number our days that we might apply our hearts to wisdom. May we remember what the Lord has done for us and become better servants to Him because of his marvelous works. *** Read James 4:14 *** Psalm 23  -  Sometimes we have to endure "the valley of the shadow of death", or the remembrance of the old man, that we might be encouraged. Fearing no evil doesn't mean to not be afraid of the evil, but that we won't serve the evil when we are in that valley. Our enemies are those who don't serve God, even though they may be "good people". Revelation 2:4-5  -  When you're in a slump and feeling low, go back to your First Love and the first works God did in you to remem...

Being Alone With the Lord

Sunday, October 24, 2010 Led by Dennis Jeffries Isaiah 5:8  -  woe unto you who always have to be busy with something or have a bunch of people around you *** Why do people want to be busy? What are people trying to avoid by being busy? *** Matthew 12:43-45  -  the Greek meaning of rest is recreation of reinforcement; ended up getting seven more spirits come back Job 1:7-8  -  Satan is looking for people who will take part in what he wants 1 Peter 5:8  -  clear your mind (be alone with God) because Satan is constantly seeking whom he may devour *** What can you do to clear your mind or be sober? *** Matthew 8:28-29  -  the devils knew the spirit of Jesus; they knew what was coming 1 John 2:11  -  he who hates his brother is walking in darkness John 12:35  -  don't know where you are going if you are walking in darkness *** How can being alone with God help you to be in light instead of darkness? *** P...
