Love thy Neighbor: Part 2

Sunday, January 27, 2013 Led by Eric Gintert Review from Last Week Mark 12:29-31 The first commandment is to love God. Then we are to love our neighbor. We tend to put our neighbor before God. How can we love our neighbor without loving God? Just as in a husband / wife relationship, they are one flesh but sometimes love the children more than each other. You can't truly love someone else before you love God. 2 John 1-7 Love is in truth . The Truth is Jesus (John 14:6). Definition of Love: that we walk after His commandments. His commandment is that we love Him with all our heart, mind, and should and them we love one another as ourselves. We must do God's commandments to display love. The neighbor is the non willing to do the will of God (the parable of the Good Samaritan). Should we stay away from evil doers? If so, is that "loving your neighbor"? 2 Corinthians 6:11-18 This is love, that we be not unequally yoked wi...

Love thy Neighbor

Sunday, January 20, 2013 Led by Eric Gintert Mark 12:29-31 The first commandment is to love God. Then we are to love our neighbor. We tend to put our neighbor before God. How can we love our neighbor without loving God? Just as in a husband / wife relationship, they are one flesh but sometimes love the children more than each other. You can't truly love someone else before you love God. What is Love Love in the natural is an emotional affection toward another person. Love in the spiritual is an action... something you DO. Romans 13:810 Owe no man anything but to love one another. These are not man's commandments, but God's commandments. Love is fulfilling the law and worketh no ill. Therefore, you are loving your neighbor by not condoning something that is against God's law. They may not like what you said or did to them, but it was love because it was fulfilling the law. 2 John 1-7 Love is in truth . The Truth is Jesus ...

HOW to Love One Another

Sunday, April 15, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert 1 Corinthians 14:40  -  Do all things decently and in order Matthew 22:36-40  -  The 10 commandments are summed up in these two commandments. If you don't love God, you cannot love man. The second commandment is like unto the first, it is not the same. You must do it decently and in order. You cannot learn to love your enemies until you first love God. Love God first, then love man like God but not as God. Matthew 4:18-22  -  When Jesus called his apostles they had to drop their business and their family to follow a man they barely knew. They loved Jesus with their heart by putting him first. Jesus then taught them how to love others. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3  -  Look at how much Paul loved God that he could love his neighbors. Paul was saying that if he didn't love God first, he couldn't do all these things. charity = Strong's Greek #26: (agape) love, affection or benevolence affection = 1...

The Impressions of God

Sunday, February 5,2012 Led by Eric Gintert Read very good sermon by Robert Murray M'Cheyne... " The Impressions of Natural Men " . Hosea 5:4-5  -  "In these words, God complains that he did not know what to do with Israel, their impressions were so fading . He says, verse 5, that he had hewed them by the prophets, and slain them by the words of his mouth: and their judgments were as the light that goeth forth. At one time he sent them severe awakening messages of coming wrath; then messages of love and grace, as bright and as many as the beams of the sun. They were a little impressed by them; the cloud of distress began to gather on their brow, the dew of grief seemed to start to their cheek, but it soon dried up. It was like the morning cloud and early dew that goeth away. So it is with all the unconverted persons in this congregation, who will finally perish. God has sent them awakening messages, hewed them by the prophets, and slain them by the word...

A House Divided Shall Fall

Sunday, June 19, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 24:12  -  Love waxes cold because iniquity increases more and more; love is not affection & sensualism. 2 John 1-6  -  Love is defined as keeping God's commandments. Therefore, referring to the above verse, the keeping of God's commandments is waxing cold. 1 Timothy 2:13  -  Eve was deceived, not Adam... Adam harkened unto his wife. If Adam would have rebuked Eve, would that have been love? Yes. ***** Example of love waxing cold today: Women preachers/pastors (1 Tim. 2:12 & 1 Tim. 3:2). Luke 11:14-28  -  a kingdom or house divided against itself will fall; problems need to be dealt with quickly or it will fall (See Prov. 19:18 & Prov. 13:24); If you don't deal with the problem but sugar coat it, the problem leaves, swept and garnished, for a time but then comes back worse than it was before. John 6:52-69  -  Jesus was speaking in the church building to the religious and ...
