Who is The Son of Perdition?

 Sunday, February 27, 2011
Led by Dennis Jeffries

The word "perdition" means damnation, therefore, the son of perdition, or damnation, leads people to spiritual damnation. The following scriptures will explain more about who the son of perdition is and what he will do.
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17  -  see the references below for a verse by verse exlplaination
    • verse 1  -  speaking to believers about the Lord's return; the resurrection... not the "rapture", the word rapture does not exist in the scripture.
    • verse 2  -  don't be worried about Christ's return; if you are worried, perhaps you need to examine yourself because if you don't know Jesus you should be afraid of his return
    • verse 3  -  don't be deceived, read the word of God for yourself (NOTE: read 2 Timothy 4:3-4 and Acts 17:11); the falling away is happening right now with the lukewarm churches and watered down Gospel; the "man of sin" is the son of perdition and Jesus won't come until he is revealed unto the believers
    • verse 4  -  the son of perdition places himself above God, thinking that he is God; if you study the scriptures, you'll find that the temple is the physical body (NOTE: read 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19, and 2 Corinthians 6:16)
    • verse 9  -  the son of perdition is a servant of Satan and he will do many signs and wonders
    • verse 10  -  people will be damned to hell because they did not have a love for the truth (which is Jesus)
    • verse 11  -  those who have rejected Christ are given over to have strong delusions that they should believe a lie meaning that they will be so deceive that they won't even know it; the world is deceived by Satan
    • verse 12  -  all who don't believe the truth will be damned and have pleasure in unrighteousness
    • verses 13-17  -  these are verses of encouragement to the believer that he might stand fast in these end times when everything is against Christ
  • Daniel 7:20-25  -  the son of perdition is a flattering and stout man, he wears out the saints and prevails against them, he speaks against God and the people depend upon him, he changes times and laws for 3 1/2 years
  • Revelation 13:11-16  -  the son of perdition does great wonders like making fire come down from heaven (NOTE: perhaps this might be a example of rocket or bombs falling from the sky?) and he deceives the people by his miracles; an image is a reflection of someone else, like the beast (NOTE: when you look in a mirror you are not seeing yourself, you are seeing an image of yourself); the image is given life to speak and kill those who won't worship the image (NOTE: just as a GPS's and computers can speak, they are images of what is programmed into them); no one will be able to buy or sell unless they have the mark of the beast
  • Revelation 14:9-12  -  the man who takes the mark of the beast will endure the wrath of God in torment

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. It's too late at that point because the door was shut. Matthew 24:36-39 The last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. Evil imaginations in the heart of man was (and now is) rampant on earth. Genesis 7:1,16 God called Noah and his family int...

Don't Be Naked!

The Whole Armor of God This Week: The Helmet Sunday, September 23, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert What is Clothing? Genesis 3:21-22 God clothed Adam and Eve because they sinned. They tried to clothe themselves with leaves, but God had to shed blood for them to be clothed. This was natural/physical clothing. 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 This is a spiritual birth... babes in Christ must be clothed in the Word, Jesus. 1 Peter 2:1-3 Babes in Christ want and desire the Word to grow by. If you're not drinking it, how will you grow? We need to be clothed with the sincere milk of the Word. 2 Corinthians 5:1-4 We want His spiritual clothing now on this earth. Be clothed with the heavenly Word, Spirit, etc. and don't be naked! What is the Wardrobe that He has given us?  Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God! Purpose: That we may be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. God saved us from sin but that doesn't mean that we still can...
