Baptism of the Holy Ghost and Fire

Sunday, December 18, 2011
  • Matthew 3:7-12  -  The religious men came so they could "fit in" with the crowd... they didn't have a true heart to want to be baptized. Fire is zeal and passion. The word fan is referring to a winnowing fan that, when you shake it, it separates the wheat from the chaff. The chaff is burned up in eternal fire and the wheat is ignited with fire and desire for God. Just as a craftsmen uses fire to brand his piece of work, so Christ uses fire to show those who are His because they have a genuine zeal for Him. To be baptized is to be fully covered... you don't get a little fire but enough fire to fully engulf you in Christ.
  • Romans 10:1-3  -  We can go to great lengths to gain our own knowledge and righteousness, but we forget that God is the one who does the work in us. He is the one who gives us fire... we can't do it ourselves.
  • 1 Corinthians 14:12  -  We can be zealous for may spiritual gifts (speaking in tongues, leadership roles, etc.) but we must be ordained by God to do these things... we can have our own zeal for things or the zeal that God places in us for his will.
  • Revelation 3:19  -  We need to be zealous. Just be careful of what we are zealous for. Are we zealous for our own desires or for God's will?
  • 2 Peter 3:1-18  -  To stir us (zeal) your pure mind you need to remember the holy prophets and commandments. Know that there is going to be scoffers in the last days who will try to effect your pure mind. God calls us to repentance and says to get back on fire for Him!
    • See Romans 12:1-2
The truly born again will always have fire. Sometimes the flame is on low and doesn't attract much. But, even when there is no flame, the coals are still hot and you'll get burned if you touch them. Put some paper or wood on that fire and it won't take long before a flame grows . If you stir up the coals a fire will start!

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not carried away with fa

Freaking out in Times of Peace

Sunday, June 24, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Encouragement from the Lord that He is our rock and fortress, He is our peace in the storm... so stop FREAKING OUT! :-) Psalm 3:1-8 The enemy is not necessarily people coming against him, but powers and principalities (spiritual warfare). The battle is often in the mind with doubt, depression, etc. This is why we are commanded not to be fearful of the one who destroys the body, but the one who destroys the soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) David knew that God was his shield and strong tower, his protector. Matthew 8:23-27 In the midst of the storm, Jesus was sleeping in the bottom of the boat. Even when everyone else was freaking out, Jesus was at peace. Peace was right their in the ship with them, and they were freaking out! Jesus rebuked them saying, "Why are ye fearful, o ye of little faith?" Prayer Requests Fields Family  -  house to rent Joel F. mom & dad  -  mom going through 4 surgery in last

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. It's too late at that point because the door was shut. Matthew 24:36-39 The last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. Evil imaginations in the heart of man was (and now is) rampant on earth. Genesis 7:1,16 God called Noah and his family int
