Bathsheba... A Proverbs 31 Woman?

2 Samuel 11:1-5, 26-27, 12:10-14, 24
  • David & Bathsheba were both being idle. The were not in the place they should have been.
  • In the even the darkness came in.
  • One warned David of the sin ahead, but he did not listen
  • Was Bathsheba the victim?
  • If Bathsheba truly loved here husband Uriah, would she have put up a fight even at the risk of her own life?
  • The consequences didn't only affect them, but others who now had cause to blaspheme God.
  • David and Bathsheba repented and God blessed them with another son, Solomon.
Proverbs 31:1-31
  • Lemuel is a symbolic name for Solomon.
  • Proverbs 31 was what Bathsheba taught Solomon, her son.
  • "Prophecy" is the burden, tribute or desire that Bathsheba wanted Solomon to have.
  • Bathsheba taught Solomon out of personal experience.
  • The only way Bathsheba could have taught this was through true repentence.
Proverbs 14:1
  • "Buildeth" means to obtain children.
  • "House" means especially family.
  • "Down" means break or destroy.
  • "Hands" means power.

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. Don't Be Naked!

The Whole Armor of God This Week: The Helmet Sunday, September 23, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert What is Clothing? Genesis 3:21-22 God clothed Adam and Eve because they sinned. They tried to clothe themselves with leaves, but God had to shed blood for them to be clothed. This was natural/physical clothing. 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 This is a spiritual birth... babes in Christ must be clothed in the Word, Jesus. 1 Peter 2:1-3 Babes in Christ want and desire the Word to grow by.
