Avoid Soft Choices!
- Push yourself to maintain what you have before thinking of other obtaining more.
- Most of the time we have a mind to acquire things, but lack the mind to maintain it.
- The state or condition of our belongings replicates the state or condition of our heart.
Matthew 24:13
- Those who endure till the end {being diligent to maintain what they have} the same shall be saved.
2 Peter 1:10
- We must be diligent to make our calling and election sure. Our spiritual being needs maintenance.
Genesis 2:8-9, 15
- Adam was called to work, cultivate and protect the garden. We have the same calling for what we have been given on this earth.
Deuteronomy 6:10-12
- Beware when in prosperity that you don't forget the Lord, the One who made all things possible. We must maintain our mind to be in remembrance.
Proverbs 30:7-9
- When filled with riches, it's easy to deny the Lord and when in poverty, it's easy to take the name of the Lord in vain and steal. We must maintain our hearts and desires that we not go to far one way or the other.
Things that need maintained:
- Our physical possessions (the state of your belongings = the state of your heart)
- Our family (communication, correcting harmful attitudes, teaching godly character)
- Our minds (that we be not conformed to the world but renewed... Romans 12:2)
- Our Spiritual being (that we would "endure till the end" and have a discerning spirit)
