Romans 5:1-21
- Justified can be understood as saying "just-as-if-I'd" never sinned.
- Romans 6:1-4 tells us that being justified doesn't give us the liberty to freely sin with no consequence. On the contrary, it poses the question, "why would you want to sin".
- God forgave sin (singular): past, present, and future sin. ALL sin!
- Do you believe God put sin to death? If so, why are you letting sin rule you?
- The free gift is forgiveness. A gift must be received. Those who let sin overwhelm them have not received the gift of forgivness.
- God didn't wait for us to be good so that He could die for us... it never would have happened if that were the case. He died for us while we were yet sinners.
- Enemies (those who are not born again) are reconciled to God in that sin was put to death. Because of Christ's death, sin is no longer what we are judged on. Unbelief is what sends people to eternal damnation.
