Sunday, February 20, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Many times, when studying the Scriptures, you'll find that the meaning of certain words was different in the time they were written than they are now. The word "keep" when it was written in the original language means to guard or preserve. In this study we looked at the different places with the word keep to get a greater understanding of the scriptures. 1 John 2:3-5 - if you truly love God you want to stand up to defend him just as Peter did when the soldiers came to garden to take Jesus; "keep his commandments" means that you want to guard and protect His word.
