(1 Timothy 4:1) God doesn't take back His free gift, but we can walk away from it and not receive it. If verse 19 keeps people from being born again, then it can also make those who have been born again to renounce their faith. Cares of this world: money, status, material possessions, etc Deceitfulness of riches: "go to college, get a good job, make lots of money" (many promises with no results) Luke 18:18-27 His great riches aren't even compared to what we have today. He let his great riches keep him from being born again. Its not about the physical possessions, it the heart behind the riches. Romans 12:2 Be not conformed to the world.
