The Key Parable

Sunday, March 25, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 3:22-35 - Setting the stage for Chapter 4 Mark 3:27  -  Jesus is the strong man and Satan cannot enter in to destroy Him or spoil what is His. Mark 3:29  -  Blaspheme against the holy ghost is unpardonable sin... Should not pray for those who have done this... See 1 John 5:16 Mark 3:30  -  These were in danger of blaspheming the holy ghost because they said that Jesus had an unclean spirit. Mark 3:35  -  This is the crowd... The people whom Jesus is talking to. There are religious, those who wanted to find fault in Him, brethren, His earthly mother, etc. Matthew 4:1-20 - A Parable of True and False Conversion Mark 4:2  -  Parable = analogy; fictitious story with meaning; an earthly story with a heavenly meaning Mark 4:7  -  The good seed will not choke out the thorns. The thorns will always choke the good seed. Mark 4:9  -  See Mark 3:35... Who is "them"? Mark 4:11  -  Believers can be given a greate

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. It's too late at that point because the door was shut. Matthew 24:36-39 The last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. Evil imaginations in the heart of man was (and now is) rampant on earth. Genesis 7:1,16 God called Noah and his family int

Jesus: Your Saviour or Your Religion?

Sunday, March 11, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert How, in your relationship with the Lord, did you prepare yourself for the church services this Sunday morning? Did you religiously go to church or did your prepare your heart, mind, and soul for God's Word? 2 Corinthians 11:1-34 See 1 Corinthians 1:1-2... Paul was writing to the believers... those who are sanctified. The foundation of the Corinthians problems was that they were following men instead of God and causing divisions among themselves. 1 Corinthians 11 gives many physical examples that have spiritual meanings. In all their religious activity they didn't know that they were missing the spirit of God. The Word of God is the bread and blood of Christ Taking part in the spiritual eating of the bread and blood (God's word) of Christ will not save you and make you right before God, you must be in continual repentance. Taking part in communion services every month at church isn't sufficient to make you

Prayer, Faith, and Forgivness

Sunday, March 4, 2012 Led by Joel Fields Mark 11:13-26 vs. 13-14   -  Jesus was looking for fruit on the fig tree but all He found was fig leaves. The season was not yet come. Hosea 14:8  -  Our fruit is found only in the Father... we can only bear fruit because of Him and for His glory. John 15:8  -  The sign of a true disciple is one who bears much fruit. Herein is the Father glorified. When Adam and Eve sinned, they covered themselves in fig leaves... God didn't find any righteous fruit in them. We all go through seasons of drought and God has to bring the refreshing rain so that we will produce fruit again.   vs. 15-19 - Jesus cast out the men who had made His Father's house a den of thieves and perverted the temple of God.   When Jesus came to this temple all He saw was fig leaves... there was no fruit there so He cast them out... they were useless to Him. Everything on the outside looked good and holy, but inwardly they were fruitless. Just as the
