Those Who Saw Yet Didn't Believe

Sunday, October 31, 2010 Led by Dennis Jeffries Pharaoh: Exodus 5:1-2  -  Pharaoh was an atheist Exodus 7: 9-13, 20; 8: 6, 17, 24; 9: 3, 6, 10, 23; 10: 13-16, 21-23; 12: 29  -  Pharaoh saw the power of God through the twelve plagues/miracles yet he wouldn't believe. *** Read in between all the above verse to get the complete understanding of the whole story *** Nebuchadnezzar: Daniel 2: 46-47; 3:1, 6, 24-26, 29; 4: 8, 24, 27, 30-31, 34-37  -  Nebuchadnezzar worshiped Daniel instead of worshiping God; even after all the things that he saw through Daniel and his three friends, Nebuchadnezzar still didn't believe. *** Read in between all the above verses to get the complete understanding of the whole story *** Other Examples to Consider:    --  Judas Iscariot... even after spending so much time with Jesus in person he still wouldn't truly believe.    --  King Agrippa... even after hearing Paul's amazing testimony he said "almost thou persuadest me to be a C

Are Your Ready?

Sunday, October 17, 2010 Led by Dennis Jeffries 2 Timothy 1:12  -  Paul was ready because he said " I know whom I have believed" 1 Peter 4:19  -  God keeps our souls Psalm 31:5  -  commit our spirit to God's hand; the spirit in this verse is our soul (see Luke 23:46 below) *** What are the three parts of our being? God's being? *** John 10:27-30  -  we can't be plucked out of God's hand *** Based on 1 Peter 4:19 and John 10:27-30, can you lose your salvation? Can you find other scriptures on this subject to prove what you believe? *** Luke 23:46  -  Jesus commended his soul to God 2 Timothy 4:6-9  -  Paul had no doubt about what would be in store for him; he was ready *** Read about those who were "almost" ready for God... Sunday, October 10, 2010 Led by Dennis Jeffries Revelation 1:10-20  -  when you are in the Spirit you can hear God's voice and see things that were, is, and shall be. *** See also Isaiah 11:1-2 about the seven Spirits of God*** John 14:16-17  -  you have to know Jesus to be in the Spirit *** See Galatians 4:9, you can't just know Jesus/God, he has to know you *** Galatians 5:16-23  -  if you're in the Spirit you won't fulfill the lusts of the flesh *** See Romans 7:14-20 about the spiritual warfare between the flesh and the Spirit *** Romans 6:12  -  don't let sin reign in your flesh Romans 7:18-25  -  our flesh is constantly doing that which we would not; it's not the believer's soul that is sinning. *** See 2 Corinthians 5:17, when a person is saved they become a new creature and the old things are passed away (the soul becomes new) *** Acts 8:5-8, 26  -  Philip was walking in the Spirit  when he was told by the angel to go to the desert where
