Being Giddy Again

Sunday, August 26, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert (Click to listen to audio from our service) Deuteronomy 6:5-9 Parents are held highly accountable to raise their children in this commandment... that's how important it is! It is our continual duty to love God with all our heart, soul and might. It didn't say "love God with all your prayers all the day long" but to love Him with all your heart. Loving Him is not a textbook... it's in your heart because you want to do it. To be holy is to love God with all your heart, soul, and might. We need to "live on the love of God". 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing."  -  don't stop praying! How would we do anything if we are always on our knees with hands folded? Prayer is communication with God at all times. He wants us to return to the time when we were "giddy" for Him in the beginning when we were first saved. Revelation 2:1-5 We can do many

The Rock and the Rod

Sunday, August 19, 2012 Led by Joel Fields Exodus 17:1-16 The Staff (rod) = The Cross "Staff/Rod" = branch.... Read 1 Peter 2:24 The Rock = Jesus "Rock" = the Rock of God... Read 1 Corinthians 10:4 We were at enmity with God until he showed us the Rock... Jesus. But then, just when greatness comes, then enters Satan (Amalek) to try to draw us away with fighting and battles. Amalek = Satan Moses = the Law of God Joshua = Jesus Jesus (Joshua) battles Satan (Amalek) and defeats him.  Colossians 2:14 A picture of what Moses did with the staff (rod). Jesus nailed it all to the cross... He triumphed over powers and principalities... disarming all evil and wickedness. Satan always comes to fight but Jesus is our antidote! As long as the cross is the focus (lifted up) the enemy can't prevail. But when the cross is lowered, Satan wins. Moses gets tired and drops his hands just like we tire of the daily battles. This tells

Abide in Me: All in Jesus

Sunday, August 12, 2012 Led by Joel Fields John 15:1-5 Eternal life is knowing God, having an intimate personal relationship with Him. Jesus is the (there's only one)  true vine... this means that there are false vines. Matthew 15:12-14 If God didn't plant it, it will be thrown out. If the Word offends you then you need to examine your eternal salvation. To abide means to remain. As in a one time relationship you have in marriage. The branch isn't sweating and trying to bear fruit... it just does. No work involved... it just comes naturally. Psalm 91:1 & Matthew 6 Dwell in the secret place of God. John 17:22-23 When the Word is dwelling in your heart, you are one with God. Philippians 1:9-11 This is our prayer. Prayer Requests Del M.  -  housing Fields family  -  housing Ed G.  -  cancer; first treatment 9/5 Connie G.  -  dad health issues Joel F. Mom  -  continued healing Joel F. brother, Josiah  -

The Power of Two

Sunday, August 5, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 18:15-20 The mouth of two or three witnesses brings justice. God will bless those who are in unity of Spirit. Two or three gathered in unity will not be deceived when a deceiver comes in. They will confront the matter and put it to rest. 2 Corinthians 13:1-3 Paul says that even his epistle is a witness. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall everything be established. Gideon had too many men going to battle for the Lord to show His mighty hand. God reduced Gideon's army from 32,000 to 10,000 to 300 men (Judges 7:3-6). God used Gideon's army of 300 to defeat 135,000 Midianites (Judges 8:10). God shows His power in small numbers. 1 Timothy 5:17-20 Elders are those who are mature and grown in the Lord. Do not accuse an elder unless you have two or three witnesses who can back you up. The elders are worthy of double honor. Be careful when you accuse them! Those who accuse, do it openly befor
