Freaking out in Times of Peace

Sunday, June 24, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Encouragement from the Lord that He is our rock and fortress, He is our peace in the storm... so stop FREAKING OUT! :-) Psalm 3:1-8 The enemy is not necessarily people coming against him, but powers and principalities (spiritual warfare). The battle is often in the mind with doubt, depression, etc. This is why we are commanded not to be fearful of the one who destroys the body, but the one who destroys the soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) David knew that God was his shield and strong tower, his protector. Matthew 8:23-27 In the midst of the storm, Jesus was sleeping in the bottom of the boat. Even when everyone else was freaking out, Jesus was at peace. Peace was right their in the ship with them, and they were freaking out! Jesus rebuked them saying, "Why are ye fearful, o ye of little faith?" Prayer Requests Fields Family  -  house to rent Joel F. mom & dad  -  mom going through 4 surgery in last

Psalm 116

Sunday, June 17, 2012 Led by Joel Fields Psalm 116:1-19 Psalm 14:1-4  -  The most lacking thing in the world today is prayer. "Prayerless Prayer" is oratorical and that's it... might as well be speaking to the ceiling. That is the difference between "calling upon the name of the Lord" and just praying. To "call" someone is to formally call them by name. David didn't care for his body (even though he spent his life running from people who wanted to kill him), He cared for his soul to be delivered. First is GRACE (we were created in His image), second is RIGHTEOUSNESS (Jesus came), third is MERCY (He took our place for sin). Hebrews 11:6  -  Without faith it is impossible to please God. Those who diligently seek Him will be rewarded. The only way to pay God back for His mercy and grace is to take the cup of salvation and call on His name. A "Second Opinion"

Sunday, June 10, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Am I being drawn toward Jesus? If not, Why? Are we not liking what He has to say and therefore seeking a "second onpinion"? John 8:1-59 Jesus fought with the Sword of the Spirit (which is the Word of God... Ephesians 6:17) He didn't condemn or judge, he used truth and pricked the heart. The Pharisees said Jesus was proud and stuck-up, but Jesus only spoke and did what God called Him to do.  They didn't like what Jesus said so they wanted a "second opinion". They kept trying to back Jesus into a corner but couldn't... He always spoke truth. Jesus said if they didn't believe what He said then they wouldn't believe God. The Pharisees said they knew God, but they were staring him in the face and didn't even know Him. Jesus only ever spoke the things that God gave Him.  Jesus didn't take those who claimed to believe at their word. He said they would continue in His Word if they w

You Have A Terminal Illness! Are You Going to be a 'Fan' or a 'Follower'?

Sunday, June 3, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert John 3:1-21  -  Nicodemus had a natural understanding of being born again. We can't see the Spirit (just as you cant see wind), we see the effects of the Spirit on man (just as you see the effect of the wind on trees). God has to take us through darkness so we can see the light. We need hard things to make us seek Him. We all have a terminal illness. Young, old. Rich, poor. Male, female. The terminal illness is SIN . (see Romans 6:23) Mark 1:1-11 & Matthew 3:1-12  -  John the Baptist was called to prepare the way before Jesus. Repent means to make a complete change of mind from where you are at. In today's world, John would have been told that he was "judging" the Pharisees and Sadducees when he told them to repent. Just as chaff has to be burned off in order to produce something fruitful, we must go through fire to be fruitful. Luke 9:18-23  -  Are we willing to give up "me, myself and I" daily
