You Have A Terminal Illness! Are You Going to be a 'Fan' or a 'Follower'?

Sunday, June 3, 2012
Led by Eric Gintert
  • John 3:1-21  -  Nicodemus had a natural understanding of being born again. We can't see the Spirit (just as you cant see wind), we see the effects of the Spirit on man (just as you see the effect of the wind on trees).
God has to take us through darkness so we can see the light. We need hard things to make us seek Him.

We all have a terminal illness. Young, old. Rich, poor. Male, female. The terminal illness is SIN. (see Romans 6:23)

  • Mark 1:1-11 & Matthew 3:1-12  -  John the Baptist was called to prepare the way before Jesus. Repent means to make a complete change of mind from where you are at. In today's world, John would have been told that he was "judging" the Pharisees and Sadducees when he told them to repent. Just as chaff has to be burned off in order to produce something fruitful, we must go through fire to be fruitful.
  • Luke 9:18-23  -  Are we willing to give up "me, myself and I" daily to follow Jesus. Are we willing to go to battle for Jesus? He doesn't want us to "like" Him or vote for Him... He wants us to FOLLOW Him.
Are we going to be people who are just fans of Jesus Christ, as if he were celebrity or sports star, or are we going to be followers of Jesus as our Saviour?

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus: Darkness

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus This Week: Darkness Sunday, November 4, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Who is Jesus to You? Savior? What does that mean? Savior from what? Lord? What does that mean? What does it mean to be Lord? We need to be lightened! Psalm 34:1-5 "They" (in verse 5) are the humble who want to exalt the name of the Lord. "Him" is the Lord. They looked unto the Lord and they were lightened and not ashamed. On judgment day, some will look on Him and be ashamed but others will be able to stand before Him completely unashamed and justified. Are we asking and seeking to be lightened by Him in all issues: politics, relationships, etc? Darkness came before Light... Genesis 1:1-2 Before there was light, there was darkness. Before we can know and understand the great mercy and grace that the Lord has given us, we must first understand all the filth, guile, wickedness, and sin that we have taken part in. We must understa...

Cleansing the Leper

Sunday, January 8, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 8:1-4 (also in Mark 1:40-44 and Luke 5:12-14)  -  Why did Jesus, being the way, the truth, and the life, tell the cleansed leper to go back to the priest according to the law in which Jesus was here to fulfill? Leviticus 13:1-8, 32-34, 43-46  -  According to the law, when a man had leprosy he had to go before the priest who would check on him every seven days to see whether he was clean or unclean according to the signs of the disease. Leviticus 14:1-11  -  If the priest found the man was clean from his leprosy, a sacrifice was to be made. A bird was to be killed in an earthen vessel over running water.  Jesus wanted the man to show the priest what He had done for the leper. The priest was supposed to come the the leper and pronounce him clean but instead the man went to the priest to show that he was clean, not only physically but also spiritually. Jesus was the earthen vessel... G...
