Ephesians 2:8-9
  • We are saved by grace, through faith, not of works... it's the gift of God.
Ephesians 4:32
  • "forgiving one another" is in present tense; "hath forgiven you" is in past tense.
Acts 8:35-37
  • Philip didn't have to "do" anything; it wasn't about a physical act or performance, all he must do is believe.
Romans 6:1-23 
  • Matthew 6:21 says your heart is where your  treasure is.
  • Our heart is our thoughts and feelings. If you heart is one God, why would you want to purposely sin? God forbid.
  • Jesus put sin to death ans sin is put to death in us when we receive His gift of forgiveness.
  • We are not walking in the resurrection when we are dwelling on sin, digging a hole every time we fall instead of turning our eyes back to Jesus.
  • Jesus isn't going to die again; He put sin to death once and for all on the cross.
  • The sin is in the moral body (the flesh), not the spirit.
  • Sin has no more dominion over us!

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus This Week: Darkness Sunday, November 4, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Who is Jesus to You? Savior? What does that mean? Savior from what? Lord? What does that mean? What does it mean to be Lord? We need to be lightened! Psalm 34:1-5 "They" (in verse 5) are the humble who want to exalt the name of the Lord. "Him" is the Lord. They looked unto the Lord and they were lightened and not ashamed. On judgment day, some will look on Him and be ashamed but others will be able to stand before Him completely unashamed and justified. Cleansing the Leper

Sunday, January 8, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 8:1-4 (also in Mark 1:40-44 and Luke 5:12-14)  -  Why did Jesus, being the way, the truth, and the life, tell the cleansed leper to go back to the priest according to the law in which Jesus was here to fulfill? Leviticus 13:1-8, 32-34, 43-46  -  According to the law, when a man had leprosy he had to go before the priest who would check on him every seven days to see whether he was clean or unclean according to the signs of the disease. Leviticus 14:1-11  -  If the priest found the man was clean from his leprosy, a sacrifice was to be made. A bird was to be killed in an earthen vessel over running water.  Jesus wanted the man to show the priest what He had done for the leper. The priest was supposed to come the the leper and pronounce him clean but instead the man went to the priest to show that he was clean, not only physically but also spiritually.
