Mark 4:1-9, 13-19

Talking about who will hear the word and what they will do with what they heard.
In the latter days many shall depart from the faith. (1 Timothy 4:1)
God doesn't take back His free gift, but we can walk away from it and not receive it.
If verse 19 keeps people from being born again, then it can also make those who have been born again to renounce their faith.
Cares of this world: money, status, material possessions, etc
Deceitfulness of riches: "go to college, get a good job, make lots of money" (many promises with no results)

Luke 18:18-27

His great riches aren't even compared to what we have today.
He let his great riches keep him from being born again.
Its not about the physical possessions, it the heart behind the riches.

Romans 12:2

Be not conformed to the world.
The world is all of the cares and deceitfulness of riches.
It's hard to get alone and hear God when were are bombarded with the cares of the world.

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again. The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. Don't Be Naked!

The Whole Armor of God This Week: The Helmet Sunday, September 23, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert What is Clothing? Genesis 3:21-22 God clothed Adam and Eve because they sinned. They tried to clothe themselves with leaves, but God had to shed blood for them to be clothed. This was natural/physical clothing. 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 This is a spiritual birth... babes in Christ must be clothed in the Word, Jesus. 1 Peter 2:1-3 Babes in Christ want and desire the Word to grow by. If you're not drinking it, how will you grow? We need to be clothed with the sincere milk of the Word. 2 Corinthians 5:1-4 We want His spiritual clothing now on this earth.
