Soldiers of Christ

Sunday, May 27, 2012
Led by Eric Gintert
  • Hebrews 11:13-16  -  God ordained men, women, and children to fight the good fight of faith as strangers and pilgrims in this earth. God is not ashamed to be their God who look for the heavenly country and not the old country of sin and wickedness.
  • Hebrews 1:32-40  -  The promise they didn't receive was the faith which they held... the faith that a Redeemer would come, JESUS! The world was not worthy of those who they were persecuting.
  • Hebrews 12:1  -  This is what Christ's soldiers allowed to go through so that we would be encouraged.
  • Hebrews 12:2-3  -  Jesus endured the mocking and trials for us.
  • John 15:13  -  Laying down your life does not just mean death. Jesus laid down His life for us every day that He was here on earth.
  • 1 John 3:15-17  -  The love of God was that He laid down His life for us. Jesus saw what we needed and gave himself daily for us. We lay down our life, not necessarily in death, but in serving.
  • 2 Timothy 2:1-4  -  We are called to be soldiers of Christ, not this world. Satan wants us to battle frivolous things and make us forget that the battle is for souls and salvation. We need to endure hardness as a soldier of Christ.
  • Revelation 6:9-11  -  John saw the slain soldiers of Christ who pleaded with God to know when God would have vengeance on those who persecuted them.
Read Joshua 24 for more encouragement to be a soldier of Christ.

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

The 10 Most Overlooked People in Your Church

Photo credit: https://careynieuwhof.com/8-reasons-most-churches-never-break-the-200-attendance-mark/ This post is in response to the original article by Anne Peterson. Her post on crosswalk.com can be found here: http://www.crosswalk.com/slideshows/the-10-most-overlooked-people-in-your-church.html?p=2 1. Single People It’s hard to believe that most churches overlook this group of people. In my opinion, this is probably the most regarded group. With churches forming so many “ group” activities, this ranks highest with singles groups, youth groups, teen groups, bible study groups, etc.  The author quotes no scripture here for biblical reference for the single to be administered.   1 Cor. 7:24-40 - these verses deals with both the single unmarried as well as the divorced and single. Paul gives teaching how a man and woman who are born again should desire God first, then marriage, if at all. 2. People With Illnesses If you are not part of an asse...

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus: Darkness

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus This Week: Darkness Sunday, November 4, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Who is Jesus to You? Savior? What does that mean? Savior from what? Lord? What does that mean? What does it mean to be Lord? We need to be lightened! Psalm 34:1-5 "They" (in verse 5) are the humble who want to exalt the name of the Lord. "Him" is the Lord. They looked unto the Lord and they were lightened and not ashamed. On judgment day, some will look on Him and be ashamed but others will be able to stand before Him completely unashamed and justified. Are we asking and seeking to be lightened by Him in all issues: politics, relationships, etc? Darkness came before Light... Genesis 1:1-2 Before there was light, there was darkness. Before we can know and understand the great mercy and grace that the Lord has given us, we must first understand all the filth, guile, wickedness, and sin that we have taken part in. We must understa...
