The Judgment Day

September 12, 2010
Led by Dennis Jeffries

  • Matthew 10:14-15  -  it's more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgement than for those who reject
    •  *** Read Genesis 19 about Sodom and Gomorrha ***
  • Matthew11: 20-24  -  Jesus did many mighty works yet the people still didn't believe and repent
    • *** Who do you think that Capernaum sounds like? We thought of New York (the economic crisis), Las Vegas (highest foreclosure rate), and New Orleans (Hurricane Katrina). Let us know who you think it sounds like. ***
  • 2 Peter 2:9  -  the unjust are have punishment reserved for them in the judgment; we don't need to payback or have revenge here on earth
  • 2 Peter 3:7  -  reserved unto fore against judgment; judgment is for the ungodly
When is Your Judgment Determined?
There are four ways: upon salvation, rejection of the Holy Ghost, death, or the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
  •  Hebrews 9:27  -  after death comes the judgment
  • Genesis 2:15-17  -  Adam and Eve died when they ate the forbidden fruit; they died spiritually, not physically
    • *** Where does scripture say that Adam and Eve ate an apple? ***
  • John 5:24  -  if you hear and believe you will not come into condemnation but be passed from death into life
  • John 11:25-26  -  those who live and believe in Jesus shall never die, speaking of the soul
  • John 3:15-18  -  if you believe you are not condemned
  • John 3:1-8  -  you must be born physically and spiritually (of the water and spirit); when you are born again you have eternal life, you won't die
  • Revelation 3:20  -  you are born again when you open the door and sup with Jesus and he with you
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17  -  your judgment is determined at the resurrection; there no more opportunity to be saved after that
    • *** Please study for yourself about whether or not a person can be saved after the resurrection of Jesus Christ and let us know what you find out. ***
  • Luke 12:10  -  blasphemy against the Holy Ghost will not be forgiven (that means a total rejection of the Holy Ghost, God, and Jesus)
  • Matthew 12:31-32  -  the rejection of the Holy Ghost is not forgiven in this world, nor in the world to come; judgment is determined upon rejection
  • 1 John 5:16  -  There is a sin unto death and you should even pray for it
  • Revelation 21:7-8  -  This is the second death
  • Matthew 7:21-22    the "religious" and "good" people won't be going to heaven
  • Proverbs 14:12  -  a way may seem right to a man but the end is death
Other Scriptures to Ponder:
Daniel 12:2
Zephaniah 3:14-15

Prayer Requests:
Dustin, Josie, and baby Drew  -  rough delivery but everyone okay; Drew has jaundice
Dennis's co-worker  -  induced to have baby last Friday
Josh and Ashley  -  expecting baby next March
Cody Coberly  -  searching for God but doesn't want "religion"
Those who've just repeated a prayer from a preacher but were never saved

Testimonies:
Eric shared a testimony he heard about a Muslim man who was converted my the example of his Christian wife (see 1 Corinthians 7:10-16). This man is a missionary to the United States and said "Muslims hate America because it is know for it's Christian faith, but that's not true." This man can see how we aren't as "Christian" as the polls say we are.

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

Freaking out in Times of Peace

Sunday, June 24, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Encouragement from the Lord that He is our rock and fortress, He is our peace in the storm... so stop FREAKING OUT! :-) Psalm 3:1-8 The enemy is not necessarily people coming against him, but powers and principalities (spiritual warfare). The battle is often in the mind with doubt, depression, etc. This is why we are commanded not to be fearful of the one who destroys the body, but the one who destroys the soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) David knew that God was his shield and strong tower, his protector. Matthew 8:23-27 In the midst of the storm, Jesus was sleeping in the bottom of the boat. Even when everyone else was freaking out, Jesus was at peace. Peace was right their in the ship with them, and they were freaking out! Jesus rebuked them saying, "Why are ye fearful, o ye of little faith?" Prayer Requests Fields Family  -  house to rent Joel F. mom & dad  -  mom going through 4 surgery...

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. It's too late at that point because the door was shut. Matthew 24:36-39 The last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. Evil imaginations in the heart of man was (and now is) rampant on earth. Genesis 7:1,16 God called Noah and his family int...
