Being in Remembrance & Awaking Out of Sleep

Sunday, November 21, 2010
Led by Eric Gintert

Remembering the Land that the Lord has Brought You out of:
  • Psalm 90:12  -  As evidenced by the prayer requests (below) many people have cancers and illnesses where the doctors predict death. Therefore we need to ask the Lord to teach us to number our days that we might apply our hearts to wisdom. May we remember what the Lord has done for us and become better servants to Him because of his marvelous works.
    • *** Read James 4:14 ***
  • Psalm 23  -  Sometimes we have to endure "the valley of the shadow of death", or the remembrance of the old man, that we might be encouraged. Fearing no evil doesn't mean to not be afraid of the evil, but that we won't serve the evil when we are in that valley. Our enemies are those who don't serve God, even though they may be "good people".
  • Revelation 2:4-5  -  When you're in a slump and feeling low, go back to your First Love and the first works God did in you to remember who wonderful He is.
Awake and Be Ready for the Lord:
  • Romans 13:8-14  -  We need to love one another and awake out of sleep for our salvation is nearer than we think. We need to "put on the Lord Jesus Christ" by being in prayer with him and making no provision for the flesh to fulfill our lusts.
    • *** What is Love? See 2 John 6 ***
  • Daniel 12:1  -  Be ready because a time of trouble is coming that will be like nothing that ever was.
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:3  -  do not be deceived because there will be a falling away... which is already happening right now
  • 1 Timothy 4:1,3  -  some will, and already are, falling away from the faith; every 4 in 10 people believe marriage is not necessary, they are "forbidding to marry".
  • Matthew 24:11-12  -  the love of man has waxed cold
  • 2 Timothy 3:12-15  -  encouragement to continue in the things which you have learned
  • Daniel 11:28, 31  -  the daily sacrifice will be and has been taken away
    • *** What is the "daily sacrifice"? ***

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

The 10 Most Overlooked People in Your Church

Photo credit: https://careynieuwhof.com/8-reasons-most-churches-never-break-the-200-attendance-mark/ This post is in response to the original article by Anne Peterson. Her post on crosswalk.com can be found here: http://www.crosswalk.com/slideshows/the-10-most-overlooked-people-in-your-church.html?p=2 1. Single People It’s hard to believe that most churches overlook this group of people. In my opinion, this is probably the most regarded group. With churches forming so many “ group” activities, this ranks highest with singles groups, youth groups, teen groups, bible study groups, etc.  The author quotes no scripture here for biblical reference for the single to be administered.   1 Cor. 7:24-40 - these verses deals with both the single unmarried as well as the divorced and single. Paul gives teaching how a man and woman who are born again should desire God first, then marriage, if at all. 2. People With Illnesses If you are not part of an asse...

Cleansing the Leper

Sunday, January 8, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 8:1-4 (also in Mark 1:40-44 and Luke 5:12-14)  -  Why did Jesus, being the way, the truth, and the life, tell the cleansed leper to go back to the priest according to the law in which Jesus was here to fulfill? Leviticus 13:1-8, 32-34, 43-46  -  According to the law, when a man had leprosy he had to go before the priest who would check on him every seven days to see whether he was clean or unclean according to the signs of the disease. Leviticus 14:1-11  -  If the priest found the man was clean from his leprosy, a sacrifice was to be made. A bird was to be killed in an earthen vessel over running water.  Jesus wanted the man to show the priest what He had done for the leper. The priest was supposed to come the the leper and pronounce him clean but instead the man went to the priest to show that he was clean, not only physically but also spiritually. Jesus was the earthen vessel... G...
