We Don't Deserve God's Salvation

  • 1 Timothy 1:12-17  -  Paul ignorantly did evil things but God counted him faithful and put him into the ministry through His exceeding abundant grace

  • Titus 2:11  -  the grace of God has appeared to all mankind
  • John 1:6-9  -  Jesus is revealed to every man that comes into the world
  • 2 Peter 3:3-9  -  the Lord is longsuffering that all should come to repentance
  • Jonah 1:1-2, 3:5-10  -  Ninevah was full of wickedness; God had mercy/grace on Jonah to give him another chance; Ninevah received face for their wickedness because they turned from their evil ways

  • Genesis 18:17-21  -  God was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for their wickedness
  • Genesis 19:1-16  -  Sodom and Gomorrah didn't repent so God put His wrath upon them and destroyed them
    • *** As you read about Sodom and Gomorrah, can you see any similarities to the United States? ***
  • Luke 17:26-30  -  It shall be as in teh days of Lot and Noah when Jesus comes back; thing will be just a wicked, if not worse.
  • Revelation 9:18  -  there shall be fire and brimstone

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus This Week: Darkness Sunday, November 4, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Who is Jesus to You? Savior? What does that mean? Savior from what? Lord? What does that mean? What does it mean to be Lord? We need to be lightened! Psalm 34:1-5 "They" (in verse 5) are the humble who want to exalt the name of the Lord. "Him" is the Lord. They looked unto the Lord and they were lightened and not ashamed. On judgment day, some will look on Him and be ashamed but others will be able to stand before Him completely unashamed and justified.
