Love One Another

Sunday, June 5, 2011
Led by Eric Gintert
  • Romans 13:8-10 love one another
  • Matthew 22:35-40  -  1st commandment: Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. 2nd commandment: Love your neighbor as yourself. These sum up the whole law and all the prophets.
  • Exodus 20:3-17  -  The Ten Commandments, a.k.a. the law. Commandments 1-4 are the same as "Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind" and commandments 5-10 are the same as "Love your neighbor as yourself".
  • Matthew 7:12  -  do to others as you would have them do to you; this sums up the law and the prophets
  • Galatians 5:13-16  -  By love, serve one another; you might have to tell one anther some hard things but make sure that it's out of love and not to bite and devour one another, being consumed of each other.
  • John 5:12  -  love one another as Jesus has loved you
  • 1 John 4:20-21  -  you can't love God and hate your brother; how can you not love someone who you can see but love the One you cannot see
  •  Luke 6:27-38  -  Love your enemies and them that use you; it's nothing special to love those that love you; give to your enemies expecting nothing in return; judging is the way you treat a person based on what you know about them... it's passing sentence on them like a judge in a courtroom.
Examples
  • Luke 10:25-37  -  The Good Samaritan - the "religious" people judged the Samaritan based on his out ward appearance but the Samaritan loved his neighbor by helping the wounded man
  • Matthew 18:23-35  -  The King and his Servant - an example of forgiving your brother his trespasses knowing that we are all guilty. Did the king love the servant? How? Which time? Did the servant love the king? With his heart or with his lips? Did the servant love others?
  • Luke 15:11-32  -  The Prodigal Son - Did the father love both sons? Did the one brother love the other brother who had gone astray?
Applications
  • What is one of the greatest ways God shows (displays) His love towards us? Forgiveness (read Ephesisans 4:32) See Acts 5:31, Acts 13:38, Acts 26:18, Ephesisans 1:7, Colossians 1:14, 1 John 1:9, Luke 11:4, Matthew 2:12, 14
  • How many times did Jesus teach us to forgive each other? See Matthew 18:21-22
  • Remember our own sins first and then consider how to treat others knowing Jesus paid the price/suffered for our sins and the sins of others

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

Freaking out in Times of Peace

Sunday, June 24, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Encouragement from the Lord that He is our rock and fortress, He is our peace in the storm... so stop FREAKING OUT! :-) Psalm 3:1-8 The enemy is not necessarily people coming against him, but powers and principalities (spiritual warfare). The battle is often in the mind with doubt, depression, etc. This is why we are commanded not to be fearful of the one who destroys the body, but the one who destroys the soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) David knew that God was his shield and strong tower, his protector. Matthew 8:23-27 In the midst of the storm, Jesus was sleeping in the bottom of the boat. Even when everyone else was freaking out, Jesus was at peace. Peace was right their in the ship with them, and they were freaking out! Jesus rebuked them saying, "Why are ye fearful, o ye of little faith?" Prayer Requests Fields Family  -  house to rent Joel F. mom & dad  -  mom going through 4 surgery...

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. It's too late at that point because the door was shut. Matthew 24:36-39 The last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. Evil imaginations in the heart of man was (and now is) rampant on earth. Genesis 7:1,16 God called Noah and his family int...
