From A Manger to the Cross

Led by Eric Gintert
Jesus, the Christ child born in a filthy stable!
Jesus, the Savior who came to make our filthy hearts clean that He may dwell in us!
  • 2 Corinthians 5:1-21  -  Have we grown so much in love with Christ that we can't wait to leave this flesh and be present with Him? Not in a suicidal mind set but a great expectation to be in His presence. Everyone will come before Him at the judgment seat, both the saved and the lost. The question is, how long will you remain in His presence? When a person is born again, the old man passes away and all things become new. God will finish the work that he has begun in you (Philippians 1:6) and He is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
    • Read Acts 7 and Acts 9 about Saul (turned Paul) and his conversion from Christ hater and Christian murder to born again preacher full of power and zeal. Behold, all things become new... your desires, passions, and love for Christ and his sacrifice for us!
  • Colossians 3:1-25  - We must set our affections on things above (see Matthew 6:33). We must mortify the things of the flesh that our old man took part in. Our heart should be broken every time we fall into the deeds of the our old man and godly sorrow should bring us to our knees.
God made so much sacrifice for us, not just in killing His Son on a cross for our sakes, but even in Jesus' birth, much had to be sacrificed!

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

The 10 Most Overlooked People in Your Church

Photo credit: https://careynieuwhof.com/8-reasons-most-churches-never-break-the-200-attendance-mark/ This post is in response to the original article by Anne Peterson. Her post on crosswalk.com can be found here: http://www.crosswalk.com/slideshows/the-10-most-overlooked-people-in-your-church.html?p=2 1. Single People It’s hard to believe that most churches overlook this group of people. In my opinion, this is probably the most regarded group. With churches forming so many “ group” activities, this ranks highest with singles groups, youth groups, teen groups, bible study groups, etc.  The author quotes no scripture here for biblical reference for the single to be administered.   1 Cor. 7:24-40 - these verses deals with both the single unmarried as well as the divorced and single. Paul gives teaching how a man and woman who are born again should desire God first, then marriage, if at all. 2. People With Illnesses If you are not part of an asse...

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. It's too late at that point because the door was shut. Matthew 24:36-39 The last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. Evil imaginations in the heart of man was (and now is) rampant on earth. Genesis 7:1,16 God called Noah and his family int...
