HOW to Love One Another

Sunday, April 15, 2012
Led by Eric Gintert

  • 1 Corinthians 14:40  -  Do all things decently and in order
  • Matthew 22:36-40  -  The 10 commandments are summed up in these two commandments. If you don't love God, you cannot love man. The second commandment is like unto the first, it is not the same. You must do it decently and in order. You cannot learn to love your enemies until you first love God. Love God first, then love man like God but not as God.
  • Matthew 4:18-22  -  When Jesus called his apostles they had to drop their business and their family to follow a man they barely knew. They loved Jesus with their heart by putting him first. Jesus then taught them how to love others.
  • 1 Corinthians 13:1-3  -  Look at how much Paul loved God that he could love his neighbors. Paul was saying that if he didn't love God first, he couldn't do all these things.
charity = Strong's Greek #26: (agape) love, affection or benevolence
affection = 1941 Webster: disposition of mind, feelings toward others, attitude
benevolence = 1941 Webster: to love mankind, to do good, promote
love = Strong's Greek #25: to love or be loved in moral or social sense

Satan loves to be a mirror, he imitates. That's what makes him so cunning. People want to love their neighbor and then love God, but that's opposite of what scripture teaches.
  • 1 Corinthians 13:4-8  -  Read these verses replacing the word charity with your own name and see if it fits. Now we know why we need to love God so much more because on our own we cannot love others... we must first love Him!
  • Numbers 24:13  -  We cannot go beyond the word of the Lord to do good or bad... we must love God first.

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

The 10 Most Overlooked People in Your Church

Photo credit: https://careynieuwhof.com/8-reasons-most-churches-never-break-the-200-attendance-mark/ This post is in response to the original article by Anne Peterson. Her post on crosswalk.com can be found here: http://www.crosswalk.com/slideshows/the-10-most-overlooked-people-in-your-church.html?p=2 1. Single People It’s hard to believe that most churches overlook this group of people. In my opinion, this is probably the most regarded group. With churches forming so many “ group” activities, this ranks highest with singles groups, youth groups, teen groups, bible study groups, etc.  The author quotes no scripture here for biblical reference for the single to be administered.   1 Cor. 7:24-40 - these verses deals with both the single unmarried as well as the divorced and single. Paul gives teaching how a man and woman who are born again should desire God first, then marriage, if at all. 2. People With Illnesses If you are not part of an asse...

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. It's too late at that point because the door was shut. Matthew 24:36-39 The last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. Evil imaginations in the heart of man was (and now is) rampant on earth. Genesis 7:1,16 God called Noah and his family int...
