Beware! False Preachers That Have Crept In

Sunday, May 13, 2012
Led by Joel Fields
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3  -  In the last days there will be (and is now) a falling away or departure from Biblical faith.
  • Jude 3-4  -  The gospel is so holy and precious that it must be contended for and protected.
  • 2 Peter 2:1  -  The word privily means to "come right along side of" meaning they are bringing damnable heresies in right alongside a little truth... very deceptive.
    • The best lie always has a little bit of truth mixed in to it.
  • Deuteronomy 13:1-3  -  The heretics may do miracles and many wonderful things but their doctrine is all wrong. These people are sent by God to see if you love Him with your heart and soul.
    • Notice it says heart and soul, but not mind... loving God intellectually is not enough... we must love Him with all our heart and soul.
  • 2 Peter 2:3  -  These deceitful ones make merchandise of you... Look at most TV preachers... all they want is your money.
  • 2 Peter 2:5  -  Noah was to go into the ark for protection just as we need to run to the ark of God to be protected from the deception of false doctrine.
  • 2 Peter 2:15  -  It's pretty bad when God has to raise an animal to get your attention!
  • Isaiah 56:7, 10  -  God wants ALL people to come and worship Him in prayer, but His watchmen are dumb and not protecting, they are greedy and can never have enough.

  • 2 Timothy 2:17-18  -  Some may think that it is mean and wrong to point out the names of our modern day false teachers like Joyce Myer, Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, etc. but Paul named names and the heresy so that others would be warned of them.
  • Jude 17-18  -  We are commanded to remember the words of the apostles who warned of the mockers that walk in their ungodly lusts
  • 2 Peter 2:17  -  The midst of darkness is not reserved for prostitutes and child molesters, but for the false teachers... this is how seriously God takes defiling His word and gospel!
  • Revelation 2:1-4  -  We must return to our first love, Jesus!
Prayer Requests
Melissa F. and children  -  sicknesses; baby coming this month
President Obama  -  1 Timothy 2:1-4

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

The 10 Most Overlooked People in Your Church

Photo credit: https://careynieuwhof.com/8-reasons-most-churches-never-break-the-200-attendance-mark/ This post is in response to the original article by Anne Peterson. Her post on crosswalk.com can be found here: http://www.crosswalk.com/slideshows/the-10-most-overlooked-people-in-your-church.html?p=2 1. Single People It’s hard to believe that most churches overlook this group of people. In my opinion, this is probably the most regarded group. With churches forming so many “ group” activities, this ranks highest with singles groups, youth groups, teen groups, bible study groups, etc.  The author quotes no scripture here for biblical reference for the single to be administered.   1 Cor. 7:24-40 - these verses deals with both the single unmarried as well as the divorced and single. Paul gives teaching how a man and woman who are born again should desire God first, then marriage, if at all. 2. People With Illnesses If you are not part of an asse...

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. It's too late at that point because the door was shut. Matthew 24:36-39 The last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. Evil imaginations in the heart of man was (and now is) rampant on earth. Genesis 7:1,16 God called Noah and his family int...
