Godly Sorrow & Grace

Romans 5:9-12, 6:1-4
Godly Sorrow worketh repentence:
  • Esau sought repentence carefully with tears... Hebrews 12:17
  • Judas sought repentance but it wasn't fruitful... Matthew 27:1-5
  • Peter wept bitterly and repented... Luke 21:61-62
  • David had godly sorrow when his eyes were opened to his sin... 2 Samuel 12
God's grace isn't something only present in the hour of salvation, but is abundant in your whole life. Where sin is abound, so is much more grace abound... Romans 5:20

The strange woman wants you to blame someone else so you are justified in yourself. But God justifies us by grace. (Proverbs 7)

Grace reigns by righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ.

We can't use grace as an excuse. Why would one who is dead to sin want to live any longer in sin? They wouldn't because their heart is changed.

Freaking out in Times of Peace

Sunday, June 24, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Encouragement from the Lord that He is our rock and fortress, He is our peace in the storm... so stop FREAKING OUT! :-) Psalm 3:1-8 The enemy is not necessarily people coming against him, but powers and principalities (spiritual warfare). The battle is often in the mind with doubt, depression, etc. This is why we are commanded not to be fearful of the one who destroys the body, but the one who destroys the soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) David knew that God was his shield and strong tower, his protector. Matthew 8:23-27 In the midst of the storm, Jesus was sleeping in the bottom of the boat. Even when everyone else was freaking out, Jesus was at peace. Peace was right their in the ship with them, and they were freaking out! Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first.
