The Value in Going to Church

Sunday, September 9, 2012
Led by Eric Gintert

Luke 19:11-13
  • Occupy = to do business
  • The day of rest is set aside as a day to rest from all the worldly stuff... work six days and rest on the seventh.
  • It's a day to gather with like-minded believers, be encouraged, and be edified in the Word of God.
  • Jesus went to a far country and until He returns He's given us what is necessary to be equipped to work. And, He's given us one day to rest and reflect on the week and prepare for the next.
  • There is work to be done until Jesus comes back... we can't be idle.
  • Our hearts should want to increase the gift that God has given us.
  • We go through trial and see hard things and we need to be uplifted by brethren.
Titus 2:1, 12-14
  • This is sound doctrine to teach a congregation.
  • God wants us to increase in growth that we would be a peculiar people set apart for God.
  • Growing in denying ungodliness, worldly lust, etc.
Romans 5:6-8
  • Do we realize the value that Jesus has put on us? He found the value in us!
"Think as little of yourself as you want to, but always remember that our Lord Jesus Christ thought very highly of you -- enough to give Himself for you in death and sacrifice. If the devil does come to you and whispers that you are no good, don't argue with him. In fact, you may as well admit it, but then remind the devil: 'Regardless of what you say about me, I must tell you how the Lord feels about me. He tells me that I am so valuable to Him that He gave Himself for me on the cross!'" -- A.W. Tozer
If we find value in the One who first found value in us, then we can increase.

Mark 15:1-14
  • WE said "Crucify Him!" WE SAID IT!!!! We took the murderer instead of Jesus.... We put more value in a murderer than Jesus!
John 8:44
  • The religious people thought they had it all figured out but really, they were serving thier father, the Devil.
Genesis 2:15-17, 3:1-7
  • The Devil, a murderer from the beginning, the father of lies.
  • We begin to image evil things and things we shouldn't and it leads to sin.
  • The value that God put on his creation was more than any other thing that He created. He made us in His image and likeness and gave us dominion over everything in the earth.
  • We put more value on one tree (SIN) than a whole garden on fruitful and good trees.
We chose a murderer and He chose us!

Mark 8:36
  • When we start finding more value in the work of God instead of God Himself, we come to a very bad place.
  • What shall it profit to gain the whole world and lose your soul?
Luke 18:18-23
  • The man's value was in the riches of this world and it cost him his soul.

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not carried away with fa

Don't Be Naked! - The Breastplate

The Whole Armor of God This Week: The Breastplate Click image to enlarge. Sunday, September 30, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God Isaiah 59:16-17 This is what God wants us to be clothed with... the very thing He clothed His Son with! Ephesians 6:14 The breastplate protects the heart and desires. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-9 Your heart represents your desires. Are you desiring your own righteousness or His righteousness? Jude 3 says, "...   ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" yet we're doing the same things as the world. We say that we have our armor on, but really, we're sleeping. William Booth's Breastplate of Righteousness William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, was not concerned with thrift stores, food lines, and raising money (while all this is a good work and nothing is wrong with the cause). He guarded his heart by having a conc

Freaking out in Times of Peace

Sunday, June 24, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Encouragement from the Lord that He is our rock and fortress, He is our peace in the storm... so stop FREAKING OUT! :-) Psalm 3:1-8 The enemy is not necessarily people coming against him, but powers and principalities (spiritual warfare). The battle is often in the mind with doubt, depression, etc. This is why we are commanded not to be fearful of the one who destroys the body, but the one who destroys the soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) David knew that God was his shield and strong tower, his protector. Matthew 8:23-27 In the midst of the storm, Jesus was sleeping in the bottom of the boat. Even when everyone else was freaking out, Jesus was at peace. Peace was right their in the ship with them, and they were freaking out! Jesus rebuked them saying, "Why are ye fearful, o ye of little faith?" Prayer Requests Fields Family  -  house to rent Joel F. mom & dad  -  mom going through 4 surgery in last
