Who Has Jurisdiction in Your Heart?

The Sheriff never carried a gun... He carried a Sword
An analogy of the Judge and the Sheriff
A town is made up of people and the first people in the town was Adam and Eve. They had children and as the town became bigger, the people became more wicked (Genesis 6). Only one family in the town was spared from the devastation and they became fruitful and multiplied and the town increase once again. Then, a group of people formed known as the Israelites.

The Judge of the town is higher in authority then the Sheriff. The Sheriff's duty is to guard and protect the townspeople. However, the sheriff isn't liked by everyone... the bad guys don't like the sheriff. The Judge gives rules or laws for the people to live by (Exodus 20:1-17). The Judge imputes consequences on those who do not keep His laws. Those who love the Judge want what He wants for them. However, there is not one person who has kept the whole law. The sheriff in this time was Moses and he cared for the townspeople when the Judge was away.

Now, there's a new Sheriff in town.... His name is Jesus. The Sheriff, Jesus, upheld the Judge's ways. This Sheriff is the only begotten Son of the Judge. Sheriff Moses broke the law sometimes too, but this new Sheriff that the Judge has appointed has never broken the law. This Sheriff doesn't have a cowboy hat, pistols, or handcuffs.... but He does have a jail house.

The Judge will take the answer of a just Sheriff as payment for an outlaw who has repented. The Judge sees one law broken as having broken the whole law (James 2:10). The Judge loved the whole town so much that He gave His only begotten Son, the Sheriff, that whoever would believe and trust Him, would never ever go to the jail house.

The Sheriff had to leave the town, but He deputizes His faithful to serve in His place (2 Corinthians 5:17-21). Everyone knows who the deputies are because they are ambassadors for the Sheriff.

He who becomes a new deputy for the Sheriff will be like a son to the Judge. Whosoever is not found on that roll call (being a deputy) is cast out.

Jesus, the Sheriff, is the ONLY one who can deputize!

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

The 10 Most Overlooked People in Your Church

Photo credit: https://careynieuwhof.com/8-reasons-most-churches-never-break-the-200-attendance-mark/ This post is in response to the original article by Anne Peterson. Her post on crosswalk.com can be found here: http://www.crosswalk.com/slideshows/the-10-most-overlooked-people-in-your-church.html?p=2 1. Single People It’s hard to believe that most churches overlook this group of people. In my opinion, this is probably the most regarded group. With churches forming so many “ group” activities, this ranks highest with singles groups, youth groups, teen groups, bible study groups, etc.  The author quotes no scripture here for biblical reference for the single to be administered.   1 Cor. 7:24-40 - these verses deals with both the single unmarried as well as the divorced and single. Paul gives teaching how a man and woman who are born again should desire God first, then marriage, if at all. 2. People With Illnesses If you are not part of an asse...

"Good Works Salvation"

Sunday, June 12, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Begin by reading James 2 and then we will discuss if out works are good enough to get to heaven. The Rich Young Ruler Matthew 19:16-26  -  The young rich man asked "what good thing [work] shall I do ?"; he wanted to know how to go to heaven; Jesus gave all the commandments regarding how we should treat others and the young rich man proclaimed that he had kept all these things... he'd done good to others (he was a "good person"). But Jesus told him that to be perfect (meaning complete) he needed to "come and follow me [Jesus] "... God works aren't enough; the young man was so sorrowful when he walked away because he had just rejected the Holy Ghost; it is hard for a rich man to enter heaven... we are all rich; It is impossible for a rich man to enter heaven based on his own "good works" but it is possible to enter heaven with God Mark 10:17-21  -  The young rich man ran and kneeled before Jesus...
