Led by Eric Gintert

Ephesians 6:10-18
  • The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us.

What is the Shield of Faith for?

The shield is the one part of a soldier's gear that is used for defense. It allows them at times to be still and hide their whole body behind it. Then, when the arrows stop flying, they can get up and be encouraged to charge ahead toward the enemy with boldness.

1 John 5:4-5
  • Unless you're born of God (born again) you will not overcome the world. He who overcomes the world believes in faith that Jesus is the son of God.
  • If you drop the shield, these things can become big questions in your mind: Am I really saved? Did I lose my salvation? Is Jesus really the Son of God? Is Jesus the only way?
If we don't have the shield of faith, what is going to protect us?

Assurance of Salvation by Brother Denny Kenaston

In this sermon from 1993, Brother Denny Kenaston poses a number of questions from the book of 1 John in order to give those who are born again a full assurance of hope unto the end. This is an excellent sermon for those who have dropped their shield of faith and allowed doubts to enter their mind. Click Here to Listen

Genesis 15:1
  • God is our shield and exceeding great reward; He is our protector from the enemy
2 Samuel 22:1-3
  • David truly believed God to be his rock, fortress, shield, horn of salvation, high tower, refuge, and saviour.
  • The Lord delivered him!
Christians attack Christians because they drop the shield and leave their protector to defend themselves.

Having Faith & God's Protection

Oftentimes, when we've just seen God's merciful protection over us, because we had that shield, we'll want to just raise our hands and praise the Lord. But, the problem is, when we've raised our hands and given glory to the Lord, we let go of the shield and leave it at our feet. This is when Satan likes to attack us the most... when we're on high with the Lord and praising His name; when we least expect it.

Hebrews 11:1, 33-35
  • Faith is our shield for the things that are not seen of the natural eye.
  • Faith in God will obtain all these things recorded.
Hebrews 12:1-3
  • Why do we fear over such little things when Jesus endured so much because it was joy to Him? He had the Shield, His Father!
  • If you drop the shield, the attacks will come to your mind.
  • We forget that He is the author and finisher of our faith and that He endured the contradiction of sinners.
Hebrews 10:22
  • The shield of faith is what helps us to hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering.
Proverbs 30:5
  • Every word of God is pure and He is a shield to them that put their trust in Him.
  • Do you trust in His Word to be true?

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

The 10 Most Overlooked People in Your Church

Photo credit: https://careynieuwhof.com/8-reasons-most-churches-never-break-the-200-attendance-mark/ This post is in response to the original article by Anne Peterson. Her post on crosswalk.com can be found here: http://www.crosswalk.com/slideshows/the-10-most-overlooked-people-in-your-church.html?p=2 1. Single People It’s hard to believe that most churches overlook this group of people. In my opinion, this is probably the most regarded group. With churches forming so many “ group” activities, this ranks highest with singles groups, youth groups, teen groups, bible study groups, etc.  The author quotes no scripture here for biblical reference for the single to be administered.   1 Cor. 7:24-40 - these verses deals with both the single unmarried as well as the divorced and single. Paul gives teaching how a man and woman who are born again should desire God first, then marriage, if at all. 2. People With Illnesses If you are not part of an asse...

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. It's too late at that point because the door was shut. Matthew 24:36-39 The last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. Evil imaginations in the heart of man was (and now is) rampant on earth. Genesis 7:1,16 God called Noah and his family int...
