Don't Lose Heart for Jesus!

Sunday, December 9, 2012
Led by Eric Gintert

Are We Crying DAY & NIGHT?

Luke 18:1-8
  • Are we crying day and night unto Him? We may say a traditional prayer before meals and before bed time, but do we continually cry unto Him with our heart?
"For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again..." Proverbs 24:16
  • The just man gets back up because He wants Jesus... he's continually seeking Him. He has heart!

"Get-it-Quick" Jesus Gospel

Today we have a "get-it-quick", "drive-thru" Jesus gospel going on in our church buildings. Have you ever heard this from an evangelist?
"Would you like to come down and be saved? It will only take 5 minutes of your time."

Who (or What) is Your God?

Want to know who your God is? Who (or what) do you think about and dream about the most?
  • Money?
  • Business?
  • Church?
  • Family?
  • Friends?
  • Television?
  • God?
That's is your God... what ever most fills your thoughts and dreams.

We even take the word of God and make it an idol. We endeavor to memorize it, read it habitually every morning and/or night, share it with others, etc. But, if we do not live it and practice what it says, we have make a book become our god!

Exodus 20:2-17
We have things so backwards. We endeavor to do good things that we think will please God instead of having a heart for God that causes us to do the things that please Him.

We bow down to graven images in the church. We see the way one man preaches and try to emulate it, we see how so-and-so dresses and copy them, we see what our fellow congregants are reading and watching and we do it too (whether it pleases God or not). We bow to the pastor and say, "Well if he does it, it must be okay and I'm going to do it too."

Has our investment in Christ become so stale that we aren't willing to take a little persecution for His name? Are we too worried about offending people that we won't say anything against what they believe if it's wrong?

Are we being "seeker sensitive" or "Christ sensitive"?

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

The 10 Most Overlooked People in Your Church

Photo credit: https://careynieuwhof.com/8-reasons-most-churches-never-break-the-200-attendance-mark/ This post is in response to the original article by Anne Peterson. Her post on crosswalk.com can be found here: http://www.crosswalk.com/slideshows/the-10-most-overlooked-people-in-your-church.html?p=2 1. Single People It’s hard to believe that most churches overlook this group of people. In my opinion, this is probably the most regarded group. With churches forming so many “ group” activities, this ranks highest with singles groups, youth groups, teen groups, bible study groups, etc.  The author quotes no scripture here for biblical reference for the single to be administered.   1 Cor. 7:24-40 - these verses deals with both the single unmarried as well as the divorced and single. Paul gives teaching how a man and woman who are born again should desire God first, then marriage, if at all. 2. People With Illnesses If you are not part of an asse...

Cleansing the Leper

Sunday, January 8, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 8:1-4 (also in Mark 1:40-44 and Luke 5:12-14)  -  Why did Jesus, being the way, the truth, and the life, tell the cleansed leper to go back to the priest according to the law in which Jesus was here to fulfill? Leviticus 13:1-8, 32-34, 43-46  -  According to the law, when a man had leprosy he had to go before the priest who would check on him every seven days to see whether he was clean or unclean according to the signs of the disease. Leviticus 14:1-11  -  If the priest found the man was clean from his leprosy, a sacrifice was to be made. A bird was to be killed in an earthen vessel over running water.  Jesus wanted the man to show the priest what He had done for the leper. The priest was supposed to come the the leper and pronounce him clean but instead the man went to the priest to show that he was clean, not only physically but also spiritually. Jesus was the earthen vessel... G...
