Process of Sanctification

Sunday, February 10, 2013
Led by Eric Gintert

Romans 12:1-3
  • Jesus is the ultimate living sacrifice!
  • Die to self, only through the strength of the Lord.
  • We have a constant battle between the flesh and the spirit.
  • We need to renew our mind, repent, and change out thinking
If you think you don't need verses 1-2, than you are proud and thinking more highly of yourself than you ought.

1 Thessalonians 4:1-18
  • Sanctification: a process of cleansing & purifying
  • concupiscence: longing for or desiring something fobidden
  • If you don't quickly repent and confess your sins before men, the Gentiles will follow suit and mock you.
  • God has called us to holiness, not uncleanness... the two can't be mixed.
We all need to get away from self and get back to the Lord! There is work to be done. For those who have gone on before us into eternity... it is finished. There is nothing more that can be done. We must focus on reaching those still on earth who need to hear the truth of the Gospel. We need to get over the side distractions and get focused on getting right and reaching those who need to hear the Word of the Lord.

If you found out that your loved one died and went to hell, would you still follow Jesus? The people in John 6:53-71 didn't. When Jesus told them that their fathers died (they didn't "sleep" as it is referred to when a child of God dies. Jesus said they died... went to hell) they left Jesus and followed Him no more.
"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. " Philippians 2:13

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

The 10 Most Overlooked People in Your Church

Photo credit: https://careynieuwhof.com/8-reasons-most-churches-never-break-the-200-attendance-mark/ This post is in response to the original article by Anne Peterson. Her post on crosswalk.com can be found here: http://www.crosswalk.com/slideshows/the-10-most-overlooked-people-in-your-church.html?p=2 1. Single People It’s hard to believe that most churches overlook this group of people. In my opinion, this is probably the most regarded group. With churches forming so many “ group” activities, this ranks highest with singles groups, youth groups, teen groups, bible study groups, etc.  The author quotes no scripture here for biblical reference for the single to be administered.   1 Cor. 7:24-40 - these verses deals with both the single unmarried as well as the divorced and single. Paul gives teaching how a man and woman who are born again should desire God first, then marriage, if at all. 2. People With Illnesses If you are not part of an asse...

Cleansing the Leper

Sunday, January 8, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 8:1-4 (also in Mark 1:40-44 and Luke 5:12-14)  -  Why did Jesus, being the way, the truth, and the life, tell the cleansed leper to go back to the priest according to the law in which Jesus was here to fulfill? Leviticus 13:1-8, 32-34, 43-46  -  According to the law, when a man had leprosy he had to go before the priest who would check on him every seven days to see whether he was clean or unclean according to the signs of the disease. Leviticus 14:1-11  -  If the priest found the man was clean from his leprosy, a sacrifice was to be made. A bird was to be killed in an earthen vessel over running water.  Jesus wanted the man to show the priest what He had done for the leper. The priest was supposed to come the the leper and pronounce him clean but instead the man went to the priest to show that he was clean, not only physically but also spiritually. Jesus was the earthen vessel... G...
