Healing & Unbelief

Sunday, March 4, 2013
Led by Eric Gintert

John 5:1-18
  • Does is seem weird to you that Jesus healed the man and said "rise up and walk"?
  • The man did not know who it was that healed him until later when Jesus revealed himself to him.
Acts 3:1-8
  • Does it seem weird that Peter and John could heal the lame man?
  • They didn't have money, but they did have they gave... the power of the holy spirit.
We praise God for all the things Jesus did in the scripture, but when it comes to healing we think that God could never do that for us.

1 Corinthians12:1-11
  • There is a diversity of gifts, but the same Spirit that gives the gifts.
  • The Holy Spirit is a "He", not and "it".
  •  What will this gift from the spirit profit, if it is only for a man's pride?
Mark 6:1-11
  • Why couldn't Jesus do a mighty work? Because of their unbelief.
  • It's not because they didn't have enough faith... its because they didn't have any faith!
  • There will come a day that they will be judged for their unbelief.
God still gives gifts of the Spirit today... are we in unbelief to think that He couldn't do these things?
1 John 5:16-17
  • The sin unto death is the sin of unbelief!

Don't Be Naked! - Loins Girt with Truth

The Whole Armor of God This Week: Loins Girt with Truth Click image to enlarge. Sunday, October 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God is meant to protect us, that we may be able to stand against the powers and principalities that come against us. What are the Loins Girt about with Truth for? The loins help you to stand. They give you support to stand. They help you to get up when you've fallen. John 8:31-32 The truth makes you free and you'll know His disciples because they continue in His Word. John 14:6 Jesus is the  way, the  truth, and the  life. He is NOT a  way, a  truth, or a  life. Hebrews 13:8-9 The truth of Jesus does not change. Don't be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. The truth is being trodden down in our day and age. He did not leave us blind in the Word.  How much are we putting our trust in the Lord? We must put on the truth so we're not ca...

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus: Darkness

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus This Week: Darkness Sunday, November 4, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Who is Jesus to You? Savior? What does that mean? Savior from what? Lord? What does that mean? What does it mean to be Lord? We need to be lightened! Psalm 34:1-5 "They" (in verse 5) are the humble who want to exalt the name of the Lord. "Him" is the Lord. They looked unto the Lord and they were lightened and not ashamed. On judgment day, some will look on Him and be ashamed but others will be able to stand before Him completely unashamed and justified. Are we asking and seeking to be lightened by Him in all issues: politics, relationships, etc? Darkness came before Light... Genesis 1:1-2 Before there was light, there was darkness. Before we can know and understand the great mercy and grace that the Lord has given us, we must first understand all the filth, guile, wickedness, and sin that we have taken part in. We must understa...

Don't Be Naked! - The Breastplate

The Whole Armor of God This Week: The Breastplate Click image to enlarge. Sunday, September 30, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God Isaiah 59:16-17 This is what God wants us to be clothed with... the very thing He clothed His Son with! Ephesians 6:14 The breastplate protects the heart and desires. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-9 Your heart represents your desires. Are you desiring your own righteousness or His righteousness? Jude 3 says, "...   ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" yet we're doing the same things as the world. We say that we have our armor on, but really, we're sleeping. William Booth's Breastplate of Righteousness William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, was not concerned with thrift stores, food lines, and raising money (while all this is a good work and nothing is wrong with the cause). He guarded his heart by having a conc...
