Traits of Grace

Ephesians 2:8-10
  • We are saved by grace through faith... it is the GIFT of God.
  • Saved from what? Why are you afraid of death?
  • We, as a society, make ourselves god, deciding who goes to heaven and who goes to hell.

John 3:16-19
  • Jesus wasn't God's "only" son... he was God's only begotton Son. (See John 1:14)
  • Jesus didn't come to bring condemnation... those who do not believe have condemned themselves already.
If you say that you believe, why do you not care about the one who saved you? Why do you go on as if you never knew Him?
Qualifications for Salvation:
  1. Grace.
  2. Faith.
  3. Not of works.
The death of a loved one (whether they went to heaven or hell) should not determine whether you will love God.

Romans 8:28-39
  • God has made us equal with Christ (joint heirs).
  • It's not by our works that we receive anything from God.
  • Jesus doesn't condemn us, we condemn ourselves.
  • We choose to sin, just as Adam and Eve chose to disobey... they/we were not forced.
  • Those who don't receive Christ are not condemned by Jesus, they condemned themselves,
  • Jesus is for us... nothing will stop Him from loving us. Likewise, if we truly love the Lord, nothing some separate us from loving God.

Is There Oil in Your Lamp?

Sunday, March 14, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Matthew 25:1-13 The lamp represents your heart. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. When the virgins heard the announcement that the bridegroom was come, they were excited. Unfortunately only five of them were prepared. For the five foolish virgins, their fire went out when nothing exciting was happening. Then, when the excitement came, they didn't have enough oil to get the fire started again.  The five wise virgins knew that they couldn't give the oil (Holy Spirit) to the other women. You can live your life however you want, like the foolish virgins did, and expect to get right with God at the end of your life after you've done everything you wanted first. Don't Be Naked!

The Whole Armor of God This Week: The Helmet Sunday, September 23, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert What is Clothing? Genesis 3:21-22 God clothed Adam and Eve because they sinned. They tried to clothe themselves with leaves, but God had to shed blood for them to be clothed. This was natural/physical clothing. 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 This is a spiritual birth... babes in Christ must be clothed in the Word, Jesus. 1 Peter 2:1-3 Babes in Christ want and desire the Word to grow by. If you're not drinking it, how will you grow? We need to be clothed with the sincere milk of the Word. 2 Corinthians 5:1-4 We want His spiritual clothing now on this earth. Be clothed with the heavenly Word, Spirit, etc. and don't be naked! What is the Wardrobe that He has given us?  Ephesians 6:10-18 The Whole Armor of God!
