Soldiers of Christ

Sunday, May 27, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Hebrews 11:13-16  -  God ordained men, women, and children to fight the good fight of faith as strangers and pilgrims in this earth. God is not ashamed to be their God who look for the heavenly country and not the old country of sin and wickedness. Hebrews 1:32-40  -  The promise they didn't receive was the faith which they held... the faith that a Redeemer would come, JESUS! The world was not worthy of those who they were persecuting.  Hebrews 12:1  -  This is what Christ's soldiers allowed to go through so that we would be encouraged. Hebrews 12:2-3  -  Jesus endured the mocking and trials for us. John 15:13  -  Laying down your life does not just mean death. Jesus laid down His life for us every day that He was here on earth. 1 John 3:15-17  -  The love of God was that He laid down His life for us. Jesus saw what we needed and gave himself daily for us. We lay down...

Be Diligent & Grow in Grace

Sunday, May 20, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Don't forget to visit NotAFan.com ! 2 Peter 3:1-18   The word of God is the trumpet... the wake-up call. We are the ones called to carry it. If the things we are seeing in these latter times are not getting to you, something is wrong with you. It's unrighteousness and it should get to you. 1 Peter 1:20  -  The scripture is of no private interpretation. He's not going to reveal one thing to another and something different to someone else. Or only to certain people and not others who are truly seeking Him. We are to be looking for and hasting unto the day of the Lord. We are to be diligent that we be found in peace, without spot, and blameless. We are to be growing in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Revelation 16:1-21 God doesn't want to pour His wrath on anyone. It is His will that all would come to repentance and everlasting life For those who think that God isn't being fair, even after al...

Beware! False Preachers That Have Crept In

Sunday, May 13, 2012 Led by Joel Fields   2 Thessalonians 2:1-3  -  In the last days there will be (and is now) a falling away or departure from Biblical faith. Jude 3-4  -  The gospel is so holy and precious that it must be contended for and protected. 2 Peter 2:1  -  The word privily means to "come right along side of" meaning they are bringing damnable heresies in right alongside a little truth... very deceptive. The best lie always has a little bit of truth mixed in to it. Deuteronomy 13:1-3  -  The heretics may do miracles and many wonderful things but their doctrine is all wrong. These people are sent by God to see if you love Him with your heart and soul. Notice it says heart and soul, but not mind... loving God intellectually is not enough... we must love Him with all our heart and soul. 2 Peter 2:3  -  These deceitful ones make merchandise of you... Look at most TV preachers... all they want is yo...

"Come back to Me!" saith the Lord

Sunday, May 6, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Jeremiah 3:4-25 vs 1:  A parable about giving our hearts to a god other than the One True God . King Solomon was "unequally yoked" (2Cor 6:14) with a woman who served many other gods and proceeded to worship and build temples for her gods. He went a whoring after other gods (1Chron 5:25). vs 3:  When we play with sin (aka "play with fire") like Samson did with Delilah, we don't think that we are doing anything wrong because no one is telling us we are wrong (Judges 16). It's become so normal that no one is ashamed anymore. vs 5:  Are you not fearful of what the Lord is going to do if you don't repent? See the example of Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5). vs 6-8:  In this time Josiah was king and the country was rent in two: Judah and Israel. God pleaded that they would stop and just return to Him, but they wouldn't. Judah saw Israel do it and did it also. Just like we justify sin because another Chr...

More Blessed to Give than Receive

Sunday, April 29, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert Acts 20:28-38  -  Jesus said it is more blessed to give than receive.  Matthew 17:24-27  -  It's not about giving money... Why didn't Jesus just reach in his pocket and pull out the money? Money wasn't a concern for Jesus, He provided. Luke 21:1-4  -  Why doesn't this scripture show Jesus giving money? Jesus could care less about money... it was the woman's heart that he saw! Matthew 10:5-8  -  Freely you have received, freely give; not money or possessions. Jesus didn't want them to worry about money but trust that He would provide. 1 Corinthians 2:12  -  We've been given the spirit that we may know the gifts that have been freely given to us of the Lord. Romans 15:1-3  -  God gave us Jesus; we didn't have to purchase a redeemer... He was freely given. Jesus found it more blessed to give than receive.... ...patience. ...longsuffering. ...forgiveness. ...love. ...

Meditating on God

Sunday, April 22, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert What is meditation? Is it reflecting on the past... what you've done whether good or bad? No, this is the worldly definition of meditation. Biblical meditation is God centered (not self centered) in God's Word.  It's important for babes in Christ, as well as the spiritually mature to meditate on God and His Word. (1 Peter 2:2 & Hebrews 5:12-14). Reading the Bible in a year is a religious exercise that doesn't profit much unless your heart is in it. Man's teaching and labor in God's Word is to replace personal meditation on God. "Why is Meditation so Powerful?" by Bill Gothard .... also read "What is Scripture Meditation" "Meditating on God" by A.W. Tozer (excerpt from "That Incredible Christian") Among Christians of all ages and of varying shades of doctrinal emphasis there has been fairly full agreement on one thing: They all believed that it was im...

HOW to Love One Another

Sunday, April 15, 2012 Led by Eric Gintert 1 Corinthians 14:40  -  Do all things decently and in order Matthew 22:36-40  -  The 10 commandments are summed up in these two commandments. If you don't love God, you cannot love man. The second commandment is like unto the first, it is not the same. You must do it decently and in order. You cannot learn to love your enemies until you first love God. Love God first, then love man like God but not as God. Matthew 4:18-22  -  When Jesus called his apostles they had to drop their business and their family to follow a man they barely knew. They loved Jesus with their heart by putting him first. Jesus then taught them how to love others. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3  -  Look at how much Paul loved God that he could love his neighbors. Paul was saying that if he didn't love God first, he couldn't do all these things. charity = Strong's Greek #26: (agape) love, affection or benevolence affection = 1...
