A Time of Remembrance

Sunday, May 26, 2013 Led by Eric Gintert Malachi 3:16 The Lord writes a book of Remembrance for those who think on His name.  Soldiers of the Cross who have gone before us. 2 Peter 1:1-21 Grow in grace through the knowledge of God (2 Peter 3:18). Not a head knowledge, like saying you believe in Santa Clause, but a heart knowledge. The Word is loaded with God's Promises but we must believe them and receive them by faith. When you take hold of god's Promises you'll let go of your fleshly lusts. Faith is the foundation. Virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, etc. are built on faith and make us grow. He that lacks these are blind and have forgotten God's forgiveness of sins and redemption. We need a memorial of remembrance. Diligently seek out your calling and election to make it sure (stable or firm). Be thorough and dedicated. The promise is, if we make our calling and election sure, we will never fall but be given entrance into the kingdom of G...

Bathsheba... A Proverbs 31 Woman?

Sunday, May 19, 2013 Led by Eric Gintert 2 Samuel 11:1-5, 26-27, 12:10-14, 24 David & Bathsheba were both being idle. The were not in the place they should have been. In the even the darkness came in. One warned David of the sin ahead, but he did not listen Was Bathsheba the victim? If Bathsheba truly loved here husband Uriah, would she have put up a fight even at the risk of her own life? The consequences didn't only affect them, but others who now had cause to blaspheme God. David and Bathsheba repented and God blessed them with another son, Solomon. Proverbs 31:1-31 Lemuel is a symbolic name for Solomon. Proverbs 31 was what Bathsheba taught Solomon, her son. "Prophecy" is the burden, tribute or desire that Bathsheba wanted Solomon to have. Bathsheba taught Solomon out of personal experience. The only way Bathsheba could have taught this was through true repentence. Proverbs 14:1 "Buildeth" means to obtain children. ...

On the Close of a Communion Sabbath

On this Mother's Day we hope that you'll enjoy this sermon by Robert Murry M'Cheyne, a preacher who lived in the 1800s and died at the age of 30.  On the Close of a Communion Sabbath by Robert Murray M'Cheyne "What have I to do any more with idols?"—HOSEA   xiv. 8. Every one who has been truly united to Christ, and has this day confessed Him before men, should now take up these words, and solemnly, in the presence of God, declare, "What have I to do any more with idols?" Two reasons are given. God loves you freely . —Ver. 4. If you are this day come to Jesus, God loves you freely. If you believe on Him that justifieth the ungodly, your faith is counted for righteousness. As long as you come to God in yourself, you were infinitely vile, loathsome, condemned—mountains of iniquity covered your soul—but blessed, blessed, blessed be the Holy Spirit who has led you to Jesus. You have come to God's righteous servant, who by His k...

Traits of Grace

Sunday, April 14, 2013 Led by Eric Gintert Ephesians 2:8-10 We are saved by grace through faith... it is the GIFT of God. Saved from what? Why are you afraid of death? We, as a society, make ourselves god, deciding who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. John 3:16-19 Jesus wasn't God's "only" son... he was God's only begotton Son. (See John 1:14) Jesus didn't come to bring condemnation... those who do not believe have condemned themselves already. If you say that you believe, why do you not care about the one who saved you? Why do you go on as if you never knew Him? Qualifications for Salvation: Grace. Faith. Not of works. The death of a loved one (whether they went to heaven or hell) should not determine whether you will love God. Romans 8:28-39 God has made us equal with Christ (joint heirs). It's not by our works that we receive anything from God. Jesus doesn't condemn us, we condemn ourselves. We choose to s...

True Freedom from Bondage

Sunday, April 7, 2013 Led by Eric Gintert John 8:12-38 Pharisees are the religious people. Jesus made them mad and they wanted to kill Him. Sin is anything contrary to the Word of God. To not do what God has said to do is just as much a sin as to do something God said not to do. Those who do not believe in Jesus will die in their sins. Sin doesn't send a person to hell, unbelief sends a person to hell. Do you have a heart belief or a mind belief? The Pharisees had an intellectual belief system. What have you been made free from? In the final judgment, all people will be judged either from the Lamb's book of Life or the books of works (Revelation 20:12-15). Even those who profess to believe in Jesus (but only with a mind belief) will come before Jesus with a their wonderful works, but will not be accepted into the kingdom (Matthew 7:21-23). We need to remember that land of bondage that God has brought us out (Deuteronomy 15:15). Just as the Children of ...

Is Easter in the Bible?

Sunday, March 31, 2013 Eric Gintert Hosea 4:6 The reason we argue and fight over things is because we have a lack of knowledge. "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." 2 Peter 3:18 When you love someone, you'll defend them at any cost. Just as Peter loved Jesus so much that he wanted to defend him when they came to capture Him in the garden (John 18). The word "Easter" is only found in the King James Version and the Third Millennium Bible. All of the other versions say either "Passover" or "Pesca". Acts 12:1-4 "Then were the days of unleavened bread." It pleased the Jews (the unbelieving Jews) the Herod killed James, so he (Herod) sought to kill Peter. James and Peter were both Jews. Strong's Concordance Definition: Easter (Greek) #3957 = of Chaldee origin (compare to Hebrew #6453); the Passover (the meal, the day, the f...

Jesus Wept for Their Unbelief

Sunday, March 24, 2013 Led by Eric Gintert Jesus Wept John 11:1-45 What if we were in Mary and Martha's place? Would we not be upset with Jesus for His lack of urgency? Why did Jesus weep? Was it because He Loved Lazarus so much? or was it because of their unbelief? Verse 15 - Jesus was glad that he wasn't there for their sakes, that they might believe Verse 25 - That we would believe Jesus is the resurrection and the life, and that we would never die Verse 40 - That we would believe and see the glory of God Verse 42 - That we would believe that God sent His son, Jesus Christ ********************** Jesus & God are One John 1:1, 14 God is the Word and the Word was made flesh.
