From A Manger to the Cross

Sunday, December 25, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Jesus , the Christ child born in a filthy stable! Jesus , the Savior who came to make our filthy hearts clean that He may dwell in us! 2 Corinthians 5:1-21  -  Have we grown so much in love with Christ that we can't wait to leave this flesh and be present with Him? Not in a suicidal mind set but a great expectation to be in His presence. Everyone will come before Him at the judgment seat, both the saved and the lost. The question is, how long will you remain in His presence? When a person is born again, the old man passes away and all things become new. God will finish the work that he has begun in you (Philippians 1:6) and He is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Read Acts 7 and Acts 9 about Saul (turned Paul) and his conversion from Christ hater and Christian murder to born again preacher full of power and zeal. Behold, all things become new... your desires, passions, and love for Christ and his...

Baptism of the Holy Ghost and Fire

Sunday, December 18, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Click Here to Listen to a related sermon called "The Candlestick" by Carter Conlon Matthew 3:7-12  -  The religious men came so they could "fit in" with the crowd... they didn't have a true heart to want to be baptized. Fire is zeal and passion. The word fan is referring to a winnowing fan that, when you shake it, it separates the wheat from the chaff. The chaff is burned up in eternal fire and the wheat is ignited with fire and desire for God. Just as a craftsmen uses fire to brand his piece of work, so Christ uses fire to show those who are His because they have a genuine zeal for Him. To be baptized is to be fully covered... you don't get a little fire but enough fire to fully engulf you in Christ. Romans 10:1-3  -  We can go to great lengths to gain our own knowledge and righteousness, but we forget that God is the one who does the work in us. He is the one who gives us fire... we can't do i...

For the Love of Money...

Sunday, December 11, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1 Timothy 6:10 1 Timothy 6:1-21  -  We are commanded to be content with food and raiment... These are our only requirements for life, everything else is extra. The rich have much temptation and snares because of there riches. It is important to note the the scripture states that the love of money is the root of all evil. Money in it's self is not evil. It's the love of money that is evil. Money is also the root of all evil. Much evil starts from an issue of money. We are commanded to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind but we cannot do this is our first love is money. See Matthew 19:23-26, Matthew 6:24, and Matthew 22:37 Exodus 20:3-17  -  We can look at just the ten commandments, God's Law, and see where money is oftentimes at the...

As it Was in Sodom, So Shall it be Worse in America

Sunday, November 27, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert Genesis 19: 1-8  -  Lot was a righteous man. 2 Peter 2:7 calls him "just Lot". How did he know that the men he saw were from God? See Romans 8:16. Are not many men, even church men, condemning homosexuality and in return sending forth their daughters to other perversion such as television, youth groups and being a companion of fools, just as Lot wanted his daughters to do? Genesis 6:1-5  -  The sons of God are those who are born again; the daughters of men are unbelieving daughters. There were unequally yoked relationships happening in Noah's day. And it becomes worse when the daughters fathers willingly give her over to an unequally yoked man with approval. See 2 Corinthians 6:14-15. Just as with Sodom, the sins in Noah's time were also sexual... the ungodly dwelling with the godly in relationships. This same thing happens in marriages and congregations today where the godly and ungodly are treated ...

Every Knee Shall Bow, Every Tongue Confess, That Jesus Christ is Lord

Sunday, November 20, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert "He is Lord, He is Lord! He is risen from the dead And He is Lord! Every knee shall bow Every tongue confess That Jesus Christ is Lord!" Philippians 2:5-11  -  "Let this mind be in you...." that all shall proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord... not Allah, Buddha, etc.... but Jesus is Lord. Though every knee will bow, not all will bow out of reverence but because they will have no other choice... they must surrender to Christ. Also read: Romans 12:2... "be transformed by the renewing of your mind..." Revelation 20:1-7  -  Satan will be bound and unable to tempt or deceive and therefore, some will submit only because there is no other option. The truly reverent servants of God will be revealed when Satan is loosed for a season and His servants continue to bow in reverence. Isaiah 45:1-25  -  Even the old testaments shows how one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus...

Baptism & God's Testimonies

Sunday, November 13, 2011 Led by Eric Gintert After sharing testimonies of the Lord's work in our lives, we discussed the importance of salvation and baptism. Acts 8:5-40  -  Simon the sorcerer believed intellectually in his mind but not with his heart. His eyes were on the flesh (natural) instead of on God (spiritual). Being baptized and believing with his mind didn't make him saved. The eunuch humbled himself and asked for a guide to teach him and help him understand. Philip now knew that you must believe with all your heart to be born again (which precedes baptism). Matthew 3:1-17  -  The religious people could just be baptized and have salvation. John told them to bring fruits meet for repentance. They needed repentance. The word "us" in verse 15 indicates believers, the truly born again, to fulfill all righteousness   Children's Lesson: "The Pharisee and the Publican" Read Luke 18:13 Questions to Answer: 1.   Where did the two m...
